Martinkuk1, films are no history lessons! FRATELLO SOLE SORELLA LUNA is a poetical movie, no biopic. The words of the consul are the words of the modern people, I think.

It's one of the most powerful scenes of the movie, at the same time the least historical. We can't say that Francesco threw away his Father's riches through the window... We can't claim Pietro Bernardone to be that furious. Italian version however does not have one moment English version does. Il Console: "Unfortunately, He [God] is not with us to help us now!"
