this was the 80's era of magical girls,by this time,they have'nt developed the concept of sentai mahou shoujo yet.lol,the only magical girl fighter that fought monsters before sailor moon was cutey honey which came out in the 70's,in a way Sailor Moon was inspired by both Cutey Honey and Super Sentai (Power rangers in japan).lol
