@TheWraith Dose some country use this one for kill or for military puposes? I'm curious,no of your photo showed the military bell helicopter,I don't know how many plants they have and maybe you know ,I know one bell helicopter plant with small aerodrome not far from St-Janvier,Quebec and close to Mirabel Cargo shipping airport,I know another thing that Bell is big company, but is that an only Bell Helicopter plant or not?
@TheWraith2:34 Ithink this helicopter got in accident at 2006 in California mountains if the wiki shows real photo en . wikipedia . org/wiki/2006_Mercy_Air_helicopter_accident
@petmitsu That is what they call a "stinger"... it protects the tail rotor in case of a hard landing as well as serves like "the Wraith" said, a visual warning to stay away from the tail rotor. I have flown in at least one helicopter with this feature, and the co-pilot is one of the sources I got this info from, aside from helicopter flight school.
@petmitsu Forgot to reply to your second question... the difference in main blades is to increase lifting capacity as well as decrease drag and/or "bad air" as each blade travels in it's rotation.
The 4 blade choppers in the slide show are 430's, not 222's. The wand on the tail is barber poled red and white so people don't walk into the tail rotor, the wand is there so that if the tail taps down during take off or landing they don't lose the tail rotor, which would kill the chopper.
I think this is the nicest body and insides of any of the Bells or heli out there etc. I am not really Keen on the skids on these 222 and 430s etc. Stay with the wheels.I mean that's what the winglet were designed for anyways...Just thoughts here...
one was refitted and used as a med evac chopper, known as southflite operated by the university of south alabama in mobile, alabama, united staes of america
this specific unit crashed as it traveled for a maintenance / overall killing both pilot and maintenance chief.
i know this is correct as I landed this unit many times at accident scenes in our south mobile county community as the chief of the volunteer fire department.
The chopper used in the Airwolf series became an air resuce helicopter in some far off country what a waste rest in peace you high tech killing machine
the 222 is a gorgous bird... the lines flow like the wind..all the aspects of that copter are so practical... im a military man and i love helicopters and jets.. spent 4 yrs on a cariier and the copters were my favs .. the 46 seaknight.. the 47 chinook.. and my fav bad boy.. THE CH-53 SUPER STALLION.. such awesome power....
Ususally I don't like photo slide shows, but this one with the Bell 222's is just great! Also good soundtrack for this.
I think the Bell 222 is the most beautifull helicopter ever built in the whole world. Even i'ts from the begin 80's, I've never seen a better looking helicopter in my life.
The shapes of the body are just so incredibly perfect! 24 years ago I fell in love with this design... and I still am ;-)
they used actual RC models for some scenes & rigged up a kinda pipe bomb for the rocket & the chain guns fired petrol wich ran through a spark plug, back in the 80's they was no real cgi or blue screen, so even the faked stuff is generaly real (just made on a smaller scale)
Minatures and on the real helicopter they used propane with an ignighter system to make the flames..They also used computers to make the reddish/orange flashes (kinda like CGI)
well ones a bell 222 an ones a bell 430..

Awesome looking helicopter. Easily my favorite.
I've always been wondering, what is the red and white wand on the tail for?
And why do some models have 2 blades and others 4, on the main rotor?
petmitsu 1 year ago
@petmitsu i think the red and white is a danger warning, not to sure about the 4 blades ive never really looked into it

I love bell 222 to 430 with retracter wheels... But bad news is Bell 430 will be going out of production in 2010...
I hope Bell Textion company would come up with new design helicopter with retract wheels...
strassj 2 years ago
they already are out of production so is
the jetranger. Only models left are
the 407, 412, 206L4 and the new one wich is supposed to have gear retract eventually, the 429
jfmayer 2 years ago
Yes, I hope 429 went well with sell. I wish there would make new one like upgrade Bell 460 or something like that.
But it has not happen yet.

the one that was outfited as a medevac chopper was shipped to german, were it later crashed after dropping a young girl off at a burns unit
(in germany, not america)
the 2nd airwolf, a Stage Moch Up (a shell from a scrap yard modified to look like the real thing (it never flew)
IE
the "Real" 1 and "Only" flying airwolf,
went to germany, not the usa
trust me, their was no other bell 222 airwolf that Flew
ps
it crashed in a thunderstorm on June 6, 1992, killing its three passengers
TheWraith 2 years ago
the orrignal flying "Airwolf" copter N3176S became D-HHSD when it was under work of a air ambulence. your correct about it crashing.
there is a scond Flying "Airwolf" which flew and participated at Airshows under the "Airwolf" skin sceme.
The third "Airwolf" helicopter was jsut a Bell 222 mock up and placed on diplay in musuems.

if you flew one then i assume you no how crucual they are...
how many lives they save & how many lifes they have taken
so the music & the photos comemorate a legacy in which the bell 222, entertained, saved & destroy'd
a celebration of it & how its used & how it should not be used
its the kinda video were you iether get it, or you dont..

i gotta say that im not to keen on slide shows my self (im not really keen on music videos nither) theirs just no style or skill in making them
main reason i made this was for Airwolf fans (to see how the heli looked & how popular they were even before the tv series)
whats the best place to kinda fly over ? (view wise)
ide love to see monument valley airwolf style, but theirs gotta be better places lol

Some 'far off country'. It was sold to a company in Germany. But crashed in 1991 in a storm. Could have happen in the US as well.

yeah even more of a waste when it was hit by lightning and crashed in germany or somewhere like that =(

@ Nudelsalatbomber:
Airwolf is a modified Bell 222 which you'll see really fly in the movie and TV-series. Only the onboard scenes are studio-recordings ofcourse.
To see the 'real' Airwolf used in the movie and TV-series: Search here on Youtube for "Airwolf at AHI show 1986".
knightwolf200612 3 years ago
if you want a giggle have a look for
Airwolf Sighted at jepepis pizza
its the same as Airwolf at AHI show 1986
but i re-did all the audio so she soulds like airwolf, its even got a turbo video & audio effect as it leaves the car park :D

air wolf is just ficitional and does not exist!
Nudelsalatbomber 3 years ago
in 1984 it was fictional (its not now)
also was the 1st tv series to show a CD Writer outside EMI : /
TheWraith 3 years ago
why isn´t this helicopter used by the army if he has all this technical things like in the movie?
Nudelsalatbomber 3 years ago 2
because of the armor plateing, its still very costly to create armor in spesific shames, hence why the apachie is so slated & ugly : /
TheWraith 3 years ago
thank you for the answer.have a good day!
Nudelsalatbomber 3 years ago 2
typo : / "Specific Shapes" not shames LOL
TheWraith 3 years ago
Actually Airwolf did exist but the things the helicopter was able to do was fictional.

but how did they all those effects?i mean, for me it looks really real as this air wolf fires his 30mm machine gun.
