  • It doesn't take a lot of expertise to know that reading the script prior to the cold reading is a good idea. It's a given.

  • this retard is nervous! hahahahah what a punk!!! and he making me more nervous for my audition and his isnt even an audition!

  • This doesn't address the most important skills in cold-reading. Take numerous classes for a year or so in improv, sight-reading, cold-reading and audition technique. You might want to take scene study as well. Remember, you will be auditioning with professions.

  • One ov the reasons I really like Expert Village is becuz if these ppl are the experts then that means I over estimate my challenges in life.

  • Until you've been in that situation you cant speak about how we as actors put too much in it. If we didn't amazing actors wouldn't receive actors and those actors wouldn't bring emotion to life.

  • i think people just put to much into it. Just read the lines and if you get the part then good for you, Its not like you have to do all this crap and pysch your self out before hand. Just go into it with some confidence and pretend.

  • Is anyone listening to the words and not what he's saying? He is giving good advice. So what if the presentation isn't to your standards?

  • You've got to be shitting me!!!

  • what a load of crap. After looking at several of your videos I have come to the conclusion that you dont have a clue what you are talking about.

  • good advice mabey just no what your reading so u dont look down so much but good

  • Expert village has the worst advice videos I have ever seen.

In all their videos everyone giving advice seem like pure ametures.

  • Good advive?!

No matter how bad the presentation is or how worthless the advice is atleast someone will say 'good advice'. Wake the fock up.

  • This was a little painful to watch.... >_@;

  • Bad actor. Have some water, shake it out, do some stretches, do some slow breathing and come back.

Learn the script, or learn how to approach a written text.

Constantly looking up and down is not a good idea. Read a lot and then talk, or sort of just read off the page in character.

They're not going to expect you to know the script word for word in a cold reading -- obviously. Skim through and then do some improv.

Dont flick your head like he is, dont blink so much.

    Basically, just chill.

  • Good advice.

  • A costume works, too.

For example, when Sienna Guillory went for the role of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil: Apocalypse she wore what the character Jill does in the game (without changing her hair). It gives the casting directors a good idea of what the character can, or does look like if played by this actor.

However, this can also lose points if the costume doesn't work on you or isn't exactly what the directors wants from the character.

    It's really a gamble.

  • ...Why is my professor on expert village? And why is he so nervous?...

    Wow. But awesome still.

  • i didn t understand a word he said! he is so nervous! but i d like if he writes his advices on the sceen that it could help us :) thank you

  • I believe the dude was acting like this on purpose...

  • gah two shadows!

  • WOW,.. thats annoying. he keeps looking up and down i want to smack him.

  • please someone stop this guy just because you have a pdh doen't mean u can act, im an actor and i could have doen these videos better when i was 15. place dr watever ur name is if you read this stop, ur making us all look bad

  • maybe he's doing a cold reading

  • Thank you Sir.

  • it's like this is his first time in front of a camera hah...i wonder why he's so nervous?

  • haha, this is comedy. hes so jittery and hes giving me tips on cold reads! seems like hes the one doing a cold read and not too good either.

  • lol lol hes so nervous

  • the guy seems nervous. lol. see even professionals get nervous.

  • im the first to watch this. i clicked on it by accident. im some what of an actor, sometimes when i get hit in the face i act like it really hurts or it did some damage to my eye. my opinion on this video is that you could of practiced what your gunna say and fit more into it. and maybe crack a smile.
