This add on might have one or two good features but Avid has it way overpriced to the point where they are taking advantage of the consumer. An expansion pack that costs close to 15% of the price of a completely new 11 rack (I got mine for $720) is nothing short of highway robbery. And the one thing I was hoping for - a stand alone window outside the pro tools environment - well, I guess that was too much to ask for.

@wajang1000 It was worth it though man. I primarily use tube preamps and use the 11R for cab and fx and it's a new machine whereas before I was starting to use impulses and going outside the box more for more fx. I still like to use the Sansamp plugin in pro tools for cabs and sounds on some things. I'd pay another $99 if they'd put that in the box. It'd be nice to see a free update with a few things though but they added some worthwhile amps/fx instead of releasing a new 11R for $500 more.

i DO have the 11, and for home recording it has been the best investment i have ever made in musical equipment, along with the new TC-helicon voicelive 2. I will be posting songs very soon on my channel.

@jerryzkidz99 costs 100 bucks i've heard. Kinda stupid as AxeFx is all free and has more models of everything. By the time you buy one of these and all it's updates and enhancements, you're almost at the cost of an AxeFx standard and it will always be updated for free.

@Chad11491 Actually if you look hard enough man you can find a great deal on the 11r (four letter website, starts with e..) so even if i were to purchase this update, I'd still be under $1k :) Axe fx is great, but not in my, or a lot of peoples budgets, serious price drop needed on their part! (hint-hint Fractal Audio!!!)

@jerryzkidz99 That's the point of Fractal, it costs a lot because it's not as cheap as PODs and Boss multi-effects. You pay for the quality.

@Chad11491 All its updates and enhancements? There is only ONE to be scheduled to be released. you make it sound as if you get nothing with the eleven rack in the first place. Besides, pretty much every review has stated the 11R to be better than the axe-fx

Really? Why would anyone spend 2.5 times more for an Axe-FX Ultra ($2000.) if it wasn't better than an ElevenRack if the Axe-FX wasn't better?!?

BTW, I'm talking about a straight-up "money-NOT-an-issue" review! (NOT a "bang-for-the-buck" type review!)

Also, I own NEITHER product, but I've tried them BOTH extensively!

VERDICT: if I was recording/demo-ing a lot of original-stuff to computer, I'd opt for the ElevenRack! The Axe-FX RULES as an all-around live-rig though!

Sounds similar the real thing. But it is not. The real magic happens when a tube amp gets hot. I still have not heard anybody's emulations that match the original intention. Sorry Digi. Keep trying. You'll get there someday.
