just to let you know incase you havnt found out, theres an easier way to restore the natural breath sounds. when melodyne messes them up, using the seperation tool, seperate the breath into its own segment, then select the breath and go edit > reset specific edits > reset pitch. - and it will restore the breath XD hope this helped!
You really need a new microphone. Try the MXL 990. It sounds beautiful and only costs about $70. You'll need a preamplifier with phantom power (+48 V). NEVER use a USB microphone for music recording.
I don't recommend the baby bottle. Their whole sale premise seems to be their strange looks. I think condenser mics are pretty straight forward. They either do the job or not. The baby blue shock mount was a piece of junk. Now I'm using the sterling audio mic which I abosolutly love. It has a very solid shock mount too. Also it was not too expensive. I don't have any other mic experiance besides these two.
This is the Melodyne editor plug in with DNA. I'm using Logic as my DAW. It was recorded with a Baby Blue bottle mic but I have had the same problem with a few other dynamic mics as well as what I use now which is the ST59 Sterling Audio condenser Mic. My interface that it went through is a Tascam US-1641. It's all recorded on to my Imac.
@Shawndejnozka Whats a better mic for under $400 the Rode NT2A,Blue Babybottle, or can you give me any other suggestions?...im going to start doing covers soon and i use melodyne, wavestune, autotune alot...for an interface the new m-audio fasttrack mkII or Mackie Onyx Blackjack(1 for under 200)
