@kylemyster100 I am not aware of any that are poisonous to eat. But there are two lizards in the southwest that are poisonous and you would need to chop there heads off prior to eating.
@sigma3survivalschool You guys are great! This is what we should teach kids, Everyone today learns how to survive with a back pack and modern camping equipment. This is the real stuff! Keep up the good work!
@kylemyster100 All snakes are edible, but the small ones aren't really worth the effort because they are all bone. You need a fat one to make it worth eating.
@38pLace Sometime next year I will make a vid on it. It takes a ton of time to build a shelter like that and I built that shelter before I had a youtube channel.
@gangsterparadice approx. 20 minutes. make sure to cook the ends well. Just don't cook it till its dried out. They dry quickly. Snake is also excellent sauteed in olive oil and onions. Or chopped up into stews
@conchobar0928 I like to literally run a stick through their ass and just cook it over open flames. You can boil it if you want to keep all the fat. Or if you want to bake it then make a pit oven and cook it slow that it is more tender!
That is a Fehrman Extreme Judgement. Probably the best chopper I've ever owned. It is ground to a 18 degree bevel just like a filet knife and I can chop hickory and hardwood for a month without needing sharpening. It slices as well as a small knife but chops like a monster. The steel is insane! Never used a knife like it.
I'm not aware of any snakes that are not edible. You just need to be sure to cut far back from the head in poisonous snakes so that no poison gets on the meat. I've eaten plenty of poisonous snakes and never had any problems. Good luck
@KFairchild1000 Well its no different than eating a squirrel or anything else in the woods. They are actually quite tasty and we have more than an abundance to say the least. I eat water moccassin on the occassion that I can catch a good sized one and they are excellent too. A lil olive oil, some onions and sautee them and what can I say. You got a great meal. No other meat out there like it, except maybe gator.
I never knew Chris Leben ate snakes! lol

Nice vid. I was on the river for 10 days and ate a copper head. He was nice but very little meat. I went well with ramen noodles.

@sigma3survivalschool what will happen if you were to eat any of the bones by accident
gangsterparadice 2 months ago
Hi, if a snake is venomous and I'd like to eat it. What should be the length (inches) to cut off from the head to avoid the venom?
butlugan 2 months ago
@butlugan I usually just cut back several inches from the head. At least 2-3"

Nice job, I like a smaller knife tho, for larger jobs i use a long hunter tomahawk. It'll split the log and decapitate the snake....
