The Gold of Juarez is also a plot device as the CEO of a PMC wants it in exhange for weapons he is selling to a drug cartel. Also, there is a gunbattle in the Alcazar from the first two games.

Ubisoft are really good with stealth type games where you have to use your brain to sneak past enemies and kill them from behind, call of Juarez the cartel is possibly their attempt of trying something different and make a normal first person shooter, but they failed miserably

You fight in the ruins of the Alcazar, and the Ghost Town where you meet Duke is the town (As far as I know. But I could be wrong) where Ray and Thomas rescue the gun runner (Barnsby in disguise), from the Pinkertons.
