What a poor excuse for a dock...It's not as accessible as OS X's dock or rocket dock. I use my dock for quick access to apps and docs. M$ went a lil to far trying to make their dock different than apple's. My advice to them is to just do what they always do, copy OS X.

If by less accesable, you mean not taking up a huge chunk of the screen, then yes. OSX wouldn't even need the dock if the finder wasn't crap. I can't stand Mac. MS rips off the little asthetic things, true, but Mac rips off important things and gives them snazzy names. Ex. Mac stole MS's shadow copy (Been around since pre-XP btw) and turnede it into "time machine"

I'd rather have a functional, useful OS if you don't mind. I guess that rules out Leopard.

I respect your honesty in respect to MS copying Macintosh. But I disagree with everything else, but thats ok, buy what u like. ShadowCopy isnt as accessible or functional as timemachine (general pc users dont use or kno how to use it, mac's timemachine is easy for all idiots). And as far as functional & Stability, we all kno mac is superior especially in mist of the epic fail vista. My macbook is more functional than any pc, i can run any app, OS or program, thanx to OS X and Bootcamp.
