Honestly, I think if people can be mature and get past the gore and nudity, they will also believe that this is a beautiful anime. I am 12 years old and everyone I know thinks i'm insane for watching this stuff, they don't get the deep meaning to it.

@ILuvGirHugs tie them to a chair. haha, but realy if there into anime, maybe you should let them start with other series that aren't as graphic are direct, and later on, move gradualy to it, but i don't really have any tip about how to make it happen. just try to start them of with something and then if they start searching for something with gradually more depth the'll want more and mith end up looking it .

@narutobabysgirl4 You will never find an animes like Elfen Lied. It is unique and because that it is even more precious. But I'd recommend you Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (2nd season), it's an interesting anime and it shows the strugle of a group of friends to escape the fate of killing each other.

I was watching an episode of elfin lied, and my mom came in and started freaking out because she said it was too messed up to watch. I told her the entire anime was about being able to look beneath the surface of an otherwise monstrous appearance. she sat down, watched it with me, and by the end of the end of the series said that was one of the most meaningful things that she had ever seen.
