I was just thinking. That whole crane sequence is a crap of a lot of crap just for a weapon upgrade for Marle... But then, that's fairly typical for a Square game.
I like how Dave is mocking at how slow the robot crane is. I admit it is slow...but we really do not what exactly is in those barrels. For all we know it's some funky future chemicle that could end up nuking the whole factory if handled wrong.
Alkaline are a type of battery, they have an alkaline electrolyte of potassium hydroxide, instead of the acidic ammonium chloride or zinc chloride electrolyte.
I might be completely stupid, but I think alkaline = Alkali, and that might be why it reminds you of batteries... y'know, since batteries are alkali... but I could be completely wrong, and it has nothing to do with that... But then it would be odd why the red ones are called Acid xD
wow dave i'm surprised! I expected you to be grinding like mad, but your level is significantly lower than mine was at that time... but the again I'm playing the SNES version on an emulator, and sped-up grinded for half an hour...
