I like reading the comments that this movie inspired. The reason this movie is so dam good is because of the ethical and moral fundamental questions it poses to us. Personally, I think the moral of the story is, there's a lot to be said for the simple pleasures in life, and that no matter how bad you think shyt is, it can always get a whole helluva lot worse if you tempt fate. Be greatful for your woman, good food and the sun. I also think Mikey made the right call. He was merciful and a friend.

Good film... my 2nd time around watching it... also have the DvD at home.... Funny thing about the military they check you when they accept you in any position especially rangers and so on. But they don't give a shit when your discharged from the military, there is no check out exam, to make sure you don't have serious psychological issues. After reading the macho comments I have to say that everyone who went through a war or combat situation has their own unique experience. Not one persons reaction or not is better than anyone elses. Love the film...and the ending is Pretty FUBAR.very hard thing to handle.... although the ending was iffy, he was fucked up by a short barreled shot gun with buck shot..that was out of range... he wouldnt have as f*cked up as it turned out... thats the only thing about the film that I dislike.

Christian Bale and Freddy Rodriguez make one hell-of-a dynamic duo. Amazing chemistry & acting, they should have gotten oscars for their roles, I still can't figure out why the hell this movie didn't get the attention it deserved. I'd also like to add that I'm an 18 year old male and I cried like a baby at the ending, and I'm not ashamed at all. It was an intense threshold of emotion. The scene was so realistic, I felt like I was the one with the gun in my hand being told to kill my brother.

Funny thing about the military they check you when they accept you in any position especially rangers and so on. But they don't give a shit when your discharged from the military, there is no check out exam, to make sure you don't have serious psychological issues. Can you really blame the soldiers for being like this.

i hate to be the one to point this out but mike forgot to wipe down the car and the gun after solving the jim problem, as mike previously stated that he is on probation which leads me to believe that LAPD has his finger prints on file. Dus, once the cops find jim dead in his whip it becomes a homicide investigation, as they dust for prints they'll find the prints of mike alonzo leading them to make him the prime suspect since he's nowhere to be found. Although he might get off by tellin th truth

The guy displays blatant symptoms of APD which are not to my knowledge triggered by traumatic events.
So, I guess it's a story about a man with history of pathological behavior who does a tour overseas and comes back a hardened, traumatized sociopath.
It's a pretty fucking anticlimactic movie, it was entertaining, one of the better movies I've seen, but fucked up none the less.

Hey, you think it's possible to convince the director to make a prequel for this movie? That would be great, and it would give us more insight about how Jim's life transitions from living in LA's tough streets to joining the Army and how he's faced with morality as he is trained to kill and is left with no choice but to become desensitized to it.

NOW i remember why when i walked out of the theater the 1st thing i said was "DAMN....what just happened?!".
I loved the movie, but at the time i was just trying to go over EVERYTHING i saw...now re-watching it, its one of the best movies of the last decade!!!
i cant believe it took me this long to watch it again.
Its a VERY unpredictable movie, i always felt like something would happen to Bale at the end...but i wasnt sure how the relationships would end...well...AMAZING ending and movie.

Thank You for uploading this really great film. It deals with a subject that many people dont want to talk about. After reading the macho comments I have to say that everyone who went through a war or combat situation has their own unique experience. Not one persons reaction or not is better than anyone elses. This isnt a writing your name in the snow contest boys. Lets focus on the movie. It shows alot of trying to get back to everyday life truths. And that you cant be unaffected by violence.
