  • he obviously was NOT there. he didnt check the hooks nor did he even pull down his eyepro... he hopefully was fired as soon as they landed.

  • oh fuck man... this is more than stupid!!!

why he didnt check the hooks???

    this could be fatal

  • Shoot this guy. If you wanna see a real tandem master, check out jaszaibela's channel. Highly recommended for everyone.

  • Did the student know this (after the jump)? During the jump he didn't seem aware of it

Glad to know that no one died this time, it does really show that your live is in the hands of the instructors quite literally when you do a tandem jump

  • where's the mistake??

  • @DJSbros look at 0:22 of the video (or just a second before it), you will see that the upper body of the student is not attached to the upper body of the instructor. It only shows a fraction of a second so you have to pay very close attention or stop the video at the right time

  • @DJSbros There are clips that connect each persons shoulders together. At about :22 to :23 you can see where both ppl are separated at the shoulders showing that the passenger is not secured. Imagine what might of happened if he was not secured when the shute deployed. Free falling at about 125 miles an hour and to come to a sudden stop when the shute deploys. The passenger would have been whipped forward possibly ripped off the lower clips. No telling what injuries he would haved sustained.

  • @dagored99 HAHAHAHAHA small dick! give your mum a kiss for me.

  • @av8rdav lol this made me laugh, a cock up is when someone screws up :)

  • @SeRgA123456789 What the hell are you talking about you idiot! At what point did he ay anything about English being from America? You might also learn basic math, at least use wikipedia to look shit up. The difference is in the millions not thousands. You might also take reading 101, He said free world! Damn people make shit up and think it will stick these days too!

  • @WizzRacing Um.... Go suck ur BF's dick... .And don't call me idiot... Fucking morons -.-

  • @SeRgA123456789 You Idiot!

  • @WizzRacing Troll.........

  • what was the mistake?

  • R.I.P Headphone users.

  • My instructor gave me a list of hook-ups, I read them off and he showed them to me along with the fact that they were secured.

  • That is why you watch them connect all four points. Also why a responsible drop zone tells YOU about how you are connected so that you know what the instructor is supposed to do.

  • More like Divingtodeath, rather Skydiving.

  • Id rather actually hear it as it is funny enough, this is a case of good video but stupid fucking idiot instructor!

  • I may sound really dumb but...what's the mistake??

  • @1208Leah it's in the description. pause at :22

  • @chickensoupz376 Oh shi-

    Yeah.... now I see it......

    Oops.

  • Sorry, it's my first day

  • ............and you're FIRED

  • very funny... and it looks like that the tandem-quest didn´t known what happend, i think.

  • haha the tandem instructors face is priceless it says it all... " Fuck, i forgot to strap the shoulders... hmm i wonder if my filmer buddy saw that, good things he's not filmin... oh fuck im busted oh well might as well try to smile and make a good video for this girl and try to have a good time cuz im never doing this ever again once i land" :P

  • it's always so nice watching a video and then scrolling down to the comments to find yet another colorful video in words.

What the hell did I miss this time???

  • Thats how it sounds like when I take a shit

  • no goggles at exit...hummmm not good.....

  • Comment removed

  • They have an emergency chute that's guaranteed to deploy :)

  • @PersonCreatureThing sure they do, dumbfuck.

  • @ivebeenrocked so is that how you got rocked? a roving black gang?

  • Hey, shit happens. It all turned out ok.

  • dont get it

  • Yeah uh I've never skydived but does the dude get his own parachute incase the harness breaks or anything. If that then fuck tandem I'm going alone.

  • Almost ,''dead man flying'' . phew!!! , the equipment is nowadays just keeps getting better and better . SEEEE YA

  • holy shit!

  • what a douche

  • I don't evern want to comment. But I have to. This is my comment.

  • if you watch the exit you can see the passenger mess with the 3 right harness just as they're falling out. it looks like it's attached as he's exiting, i think it's the passenger's fault

  • @Crypt1cmyst1c if you look more closely the 2 connections at the shoulders were never hooked up. The student is just holding on to his harness which is what they are taught to do for a first time tandem. The harnesses are connected by a hook end coming from the student harness and a looped end on the instructors harness.

  • is that dude dead?

  • rookie mistake

  • The "coach" does have a very odd look on his face when the mistake is realized. I'm very suprised that this wasn't caught before they exited the plane. Most facilities check and double check on the ground, in the plane, etc. Shoot...I had random "seasoned"skydivers leaning over to me in the plane to "monkey pick " over all the equipment. It is all a family-everyone watches everyone -at least that is how the drop zones that I've been to have functioned. Sad to see this, but good case study.

  • I dangerous as it could have been, I don't think he should have been fired over it. We're human, we make mistakes.

  • EAR RAPE.

  • hahaha dude at the end of the video the parachute instructor is just like fuck im getting fired while trying to not look like it.

  • That's scary as heck. ESPECIALLY if you've done this before and you know it's not supposed to look like that.

  • NOISY!

  • @TzeffNL ya the noise and the shaky plane on the way up with no seatbelts etc..(like theyd help anyway) kinda makes it seem a little more real lol....theres no backing out with your legs out of the plane :D loved it!!!!!!!!

  • @scottspook actualy seat belts on planes do help, especialy when you hit turbulence

  • oh... i see the problem...

  • so how long did it take for the paramedics to resuscitate him?

  • he put not on his glasses....when they jump the harness it's no fixed in the upper side!CRAZY???

  • I only do static line jumps. i have never sky dived. but isnt there a pre jump inspection from someone qualified whos not the jumper? just to catch possibly forgotten mistakes such as that?

  • @Paratrooper82ndFA there is none of that.... tandem students get hooked up to the instructor during approach to altitude. The only thing that gets 'inspected' is the rig being used.

  • I should have turned the sound down b4 playing this video.

  • I see the mistake now...that was lucky.

  • Comment removed

  • Not that serious, but it looks like the tandem instructor also forgets to put on his glasses...

  • av8rdav! We spoke a few years ago about this character. I helped kick this guy off the DZ and last saw him about 3 years ago in a little hick town in Oregon missing most of his teeth for his meth habit. On the downside, its a shame what he has done to himself, on the upside, there is no way he will ever work in the sky ever again.

  • @wizardcam little hick town? Molalla Oregon? skydive oregon?

  • @duckkillerclydeclyde Not SDO. Estacada is much more hick that Molalla! lol

  • Prejump Inspection/Buddy Checks????? I think the camera man is just as responsible for not checking his partner out.

  • how does the camera man NOT notice this as he is staring right at the rig the whole time before exit. maybe a whoa whoa signal, and we go around again? just a thought.

  • my cousin PJ Joseph died jumping... not sure if it was an instructor accident or not!

    R.I.P. PJ!

  • To everyone who doesn't understand what happened

The instructor's harness has 4 hooks which he uses to attach the passenger to. 2 at shoulder level, and 2 at waist level.

When both board the airplane, only 2 top hooks are attached so that the passenger and instructor can move freely (different reasons for this).

Before the door is opened, the instructor must attach the bottom 2 hooks and tighten them. He forgot to attach, so the guy was flying with only 2 hooks attached.

    And no, it's not fatal

  • Is it possable that as part of the staff of jump, the camera man- before exit can oversee the master conduct the link up as part of the buddys final pin check? Seem's that a simple procedure before exit could have been prevented with another pair of eye's

Also I have often thought while going to hight," If the plane did poo itselve i wonder if a tandum master could do a emegency exit quicker while semi undone?

  • what happened, i didnt see anything wrong?

  • @jm431 he didnt secure the top two thingies that connect to the person. notice how the person looks to be out of control .

  • did the tandem passenger (if thats what its called) notice that anything where out of place?

  • @markeneier No he didn't know anything unusual had happened. However I did dub the video for him and gave him a copy. So it's possible, in the years since I shot this video, he has watched it a seen the problem.

  • @av8rdav you didn't connect the fing straps? cripes some instructor you are

  • @scottspook I'm not a skydiving instructor. Just did the video.

  • @av8rdav i think you should have caught the uppers not being connected. it's first fault of the instructor but you should know how to give tandem gear checks prior to exiting which could have prevented this. look out for the people you work and jump with. this should be a given at all times. i shoot camera and i am an instructor too.

  • @ivebeenrocked exactly.........

  • @ivebeenrocked sure we should look out for each other. but that's pretty harsh. maybe in a caravan or something where you watch them climb to the door. but crammed in a little thing like that camera guy wouldn't really see it

  • @beardedswine not true at all dipshit. i have over 9,0000 jumps and many from cessnas. if anything he should have seen it easier since you are much closer. making up stupid excuses asshole. stfu.

  • @ivebeenrocked good for you, you must be the man. what if he had like 4/500 jumps? then he's be pretty caught up in his own world. i bet you did this once and tried to blame the camera guy. tell me where you jump so i know where not to go. loser. how many base jumps you got then soft cock if you're the man

  • @beardedswine you're a typical skydiver cunt who thinks hes the shit, i see your kind all the time. i have a little over 600 base jumps. i jump at perris. being caught up in "his own world" almost got someone killed dipshit. get with the program. mistakes happen BUT this type of mistake should NEVER fucking happen, ever.

now go fuck yourself, you cunt.

  • @ivebeenrocked haha. nah dude all i said was it was a bit harsh. happy for a healthy debate. you seemed to take it personally and came back with insults, so i figured i'd push your buttons and piss you off. it worked. i'm a safe, competent skydiver and base jumper. enjoy your anger moron

  • @beardedswine you're a cunt. i hope you fucking bounce shithead.

  • @beardedswine and you're from australia?.....cant be true, australians are usually cool. guaranteed you're a cunt.

  • @ivebeenrocked hahahaha well then i guess your just proof of arrogant angry americans then huh?

  • @beardedswine dude, america is fucked....not a proud flag waving usa'er here. americans are douche bags.....you got me there. lol.

  • @ivebeenrocked good to hear. i'm no patriot either. i fucking hate our queen. seems like we might have to agree to disagree. blue skies

  • @ivebeenrocked well could you leave then?

  • @tigwaump you're an obvious douchebag american, lol. hopefully your wife, sister and mother all get anal raped by roving black gangs, hahahahahaha. you cunt. now go get stomach cancer and do all us all favor by dying a slow painful death you shitface.

  • @ivebeenrocked u would wish all that on someone who disses you in comments on youtube? Jeez...

  • @ivebeenrocked You don't speak like someone who has 9000 jumps. 9000 jumps puts you in an elite group. Why is it all these dip shits have to post derogatory and anger inciting comments. Is it that they don't have a life and must try and make one online?

  • @av8rdav now go read this post and listen to yourself, cunt. "Elite" group? shut the fuck up. please i beg you to fucking bounce on your next jump and 2, get throat or stomach cancer and die painfully as soon as possible you fucking douche.

  • @ivebeenrocked You just made my point!! Thanks!

  • @ivebeenrocked you're a fucking idiot mate, get a little bit of criticism of a few people and you wish death on them? Well done on embarassing yourself.

  • @ivebeenrocked you're a fucking idiot mate, get a little bit of criticism of a few people and you wish death on them? Well done on embarassing yourself.

  • Ground Breaking HD

  • if this happened to me i wouuld have shit my pants lol

  • @av8rdav How hard is it to FORGET to snap the student on all 4 points?! Seriously. You'd think that having the student ATTACHED to the instructor would be the instructor's FIRST thing to check, next to the parachute(s)...Geez.

  • la ostia q le pego al instructor segun aterrizo, le fundo la oreja con el craneo

  • what happened ???

  • @pornoslut It's in the description below the video. Also, you might wanna think about changing your screen name, Pornoslut.

  • @offtohawaii nO thanks Im fine with my username bc its just a username . doesnt mean anything ! if people take it that way then thats there problem . shouldnt bother anyone else . and I dont think you can change it without deleting the whole account buy I could be wrong .

  • nice soundtrack

  • @rossmoney That's called the raw unedited video because I hate watching a video about, say an engine, and they put music over the engine sound??

  • PESTAAKAPEZ - iF YOU DON'T LIKE MY COMMENTS THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD KEEP YOURS TO YOURSELF...IM NOT A GEEK,,, IM A LICENSED SKYDIVER WHO HAPPENS TO LOVE HIS SPORT....A VERY DANGEROUS SPORT THAT IS VERY UNFORGIVING OF MISTAKES LIKE THE ONE IN THIS VID

  • @plair473 ok get over it and spread your knowledge somewhere else...

  • @gateblokker Thats just typical of skydiving, everyone is a know all boring cunt who wants to give everyone a lecture, if I want to kill myself it's my business I don't need to do an autopsy of every fuckin thing that went wrong when I land, if anything it just makes people more nervous for the future, I always say most skydivers are wannabe pilots and model aircraft enthusiasts, boring bastards basically, its not what I wanted when I was getting into it, they make the funnest thing a misery

  • We had a different waiver - it just said: "If at first you don't succeed, maybe skydiving's not your thing!"

  • i dont understand what went wrong

  • Just heard a large Military jet on way to/from Libya (I guess) fly over head, only a few thousand feet as could see flashing white beacon despite heavy cloud, also quite loud but steady noise, made the Ducks in the next town quack! 03:47 21/March/2011

  • Wow omfg yea I hope this instructor had his rating pulled!

  • what was the mistake??

  • If this would've happened to me, I wouldn't have only got him fired, I woulda beat the shit outta that dude

  • @Funnylilwhiteboy I bet the student didn't even know what happened.

  • @flyinbrian87 Yep I bet your right - I was once did a video for a tandem that had a malfunction and when they got to the ground the student never even knew it - just thought it was a fun ride. BTW the most nervous I had ever been while skydiving was being a tandem passenger for a buddy to regain his currency

  • I've only jumped three times and I'm already feeling that incompetent instructors are very, very common...

  • @niggakilla44 Shut up you racist fuck. Everyone has just as much right to live as anyone else.

  • Got fired for that, For such a minor thing, each connecter holds 5000Ibs 2's enough he ain't gonna go nowhere

  • thanks for the video, justifies my decision to not risk my life by jumping out of planes for no purpose :)

  • @JohnF30Music So you're saying that having fun isn't a reason to do something? So are you honestly trying to tell me that you never do anything to have fun? Sounds like a boring life

  • @magicalhearingman sure, i do a lot of stuff to have fun. jumping out of a plane isn't one of that stuff.

  • Jesus, why did I sign up fo skydiving? D:

  • Thank you. And by the way your video is real cool it made me smile. :-)

  • Hey he only missed 1/2 the connections....lol...goggles....he was busy it seems.

any one connection is enough....in a cessna i can imagine after 8 jmps..tired...got a cranky pax.

  • 0:22 fuck me.... :O

  • wow my heart sank at :22 omg wow

  • JESUS He was VERY close to losing him then. 8-/

  • Looks like the instructor wasn't wearing his goggles when he did the exit, but he got them back on....seems like it all turned out ok.....

  • They should get ready to go as soon as they enter the aircraft, as an emergency exit may be needed during the climb, and that is not the time to be hooking on and doing checks prior to exit.

  • OMG THIS LOOKS SOOO MUCH FUN!!! me and my dad are going skydiving on my 18th birthday (i wish it was shorter) !!!!!!!!!!!! 5 MORE YEARS!!! =D:

  • I am aware of how the waiver works of liability works, but it's still a crock because the way it's worded it basically says that drop zone and anyone that is employed there is almost untouchable. Even if the instructor is clearly at fault the tandem student has no recourse( assuming they live). I know some of you disagree, but think if your loved one was killed or disabled because an instructor failed to properly hook up the harness correctly. Our sport is fun, but very unforgiving in mistakes

  • @plair473 They are untouchable. As far as I know, the waiver has not been defeated in a court challenge. In fact, my friend that died in the crash of his jump plane (he was not the pilot, he was an AFF instructor on the load). 4 of 5 people died. The survivor sued the pilots estate and lost with the judge awarding attorney fees to the estate to be paid by the plaintiff. The judge cited the waiver in dismissing the case.

  • @plair473 gross negligence is never covered in a contract of this sort, even though it may seem, if the DZ or instructior made a gross error of judgement any lawyer would tear that contract to shreds.... we are taught this in instructor training and is common knowledge giving the legal system today......The waiver is for people who are giving the proper instruction and fail too comply and then get hurt and feel they deserve compensation.... this is a high risk sport you know this when you jump.

  • @plair473 its great when you are about to jump, and the instructor that has your life in his hands is just reaking of weed. I have nothing against pot, but when someone elses life is in your hands like that don't smoke a joint right before.

  • This instructor has NO business jumping out of airplanes and endangering the lives of others........hmm, this is the real reason for having to sign a waiver, and don't try talking shit to me, I am a licensed skydiver. To "lookingforronfalter" ever heard of Carolyn Clay at West Point, VA ?

  • @plair473 The waiver is no longer required. The waiver was an FAA exemption for 1 person 1 parachute system. What they sign now is a release of liability.

  • @plair473 Im not a sky diver, what did he do wrong?

  • @stillnailing read the text...under te viewhits is a arrow

  • @plair473 Um can u explain to me what even happend?

  • @plair473 fukin hell its only a internet vid u geek...get over it

  • Comment removed

  • thats what you call a shovel ready job,,,,,,hows that hope and change working out

  • To be fair, he did a nice job of clipping back on

  • Anyone in the crowd remember Roch Charmet (spelling??)?

setting a record for the most jumps in 24 hours in '88 or '89 I believe.

He was so tired he jumped out with his rig half on. He almost got it buckled and deployed before impact. So sad. I had some great fun jumps with him. he had over 20K jumps (probably still a record to this day)

  • back in the days when I jumped (80's), we always did a buddy check. That's nuts that no one else did a buddy check and detected it. It's murphy's law - if you don't do the buddy check, you'll screw up.

On the goggles comment below - I never used goggles. It messed with my vision.

But riding a motorcyle I always have a face shield or sun glasses.

  • damn it is LOOOUD

  • Well theres one less skydiving instructor.

  • His goggles (the instructors) were on the top of his helmet too when he jumped. If I was the student I would punch him in the face once we were safely on the ground.

  • I hired this guy the next day. BTW I do skydives at a discount price, but you must sign a waiver. ;)

  • @R0773N obvious troll is obvious

  • @Prediluvian27 I don't see a troll, I see a guy with a funny sense of humour

  • 0:22 holy FUCK i would be scared

  • WOW!!! first time i watched it i didn't notice the harness, then i read the description. SHIT, that's bad

  • My question is...what was the instructor doing with his time on the way up to altitude? Cessna's like that usually take a good 30 mins to climb to 10K and above. He had more than enough time to check and double check that everything was hooked up. Instead...he was probably runnin his mouth or otherwise not paying attention. UNACCEPTABLE -- On the way up to altitude I'm always looking at my gear or someone else's. Tandem instructors have a responsibility to their students as well as themselves.

  • I know a guy who did something like this, and his tandem rating was also pulled. I can never say it enough, safety, safety, safety. Always check your gear, even if you think it's all in place. I check my personal rig several times before putting in on, I check all three handles before getting in the plane, several times during the plane and right before I get out. I also have a pin check on the ground, and a pin check in the plane. You can never be too safe.

  • how did you never let go of your camera o:

  • There was this one jump of mine-1 of the funniest ever.It was a 4way,and when we left the plane,we funneled-went to shit.People were tangled all up.I looked down at my left hand, and my alt. was wrapped up in my friends sunglasses tie.I pulled it off,and he immedietly grapped his eyes, and rolled over on his back, and sank.I looked over at my friend(who also lost his sunglasses)-his eye lids were peeled up from the wind.He said,"I could see fine!" So funny.

  • wow thats a big fucking oops..

  • Thats some sweet flying how many times have you jumped?

  • what was the mistake

    ?

  • @harjot59 the mistake is obvious wen he jumps their shoulder harnesses arent connected so he had to reconnect them during the fall

  • didnt yu notice before hand that he only had 2? or you noticed right after that jump

  • @david292978 I've said many times before. I have my checks to do, so no. Whenever you add anything unnecessary to the skydive you up the chances of something going wrong. A camera with a big lens on it it just waiting to snag lines or whatever. I have a ritual I follow before getting in the plane and during the climb to just before exit and that ritual doesn't include looking to see if the instructor has done his job right. Nor is there time to include it.

  • what did he do wrong?

  • @KaraJayneee didn't properly secure shoulder harness. note how theyre both tumbling in the beginning.

  • I hope that TI had his rating pulled. What a freaking idiot!

  • I remember an instructor putting out a student on his first thirty second delay from 4500. Lucky the student was already well versed with his altimeter. The instructor was very experienced and respected. He grounded himself and reported himself to the BPA.

His was a very important lesson to anyone who thinks they are above making very basic mistakes.... it can happen to any of us if we let concentration lapse for one moment.
