I really wish they would have introduced new characters more slowly. Made it more exciting. I also wondered why Grimlock didn't ever transform in these later episodes. So bizarre! When the Terrorcons combine, Hun-Grrr transforms into Blot and Sinnertwin (in leg forms), then a second Hun-Grrr hops on as the main body and combines into Abominus. The same thing happens when Abominus separates. The Decepticons are gigantic when they leave Unicron’s head.

The first half of the 1986-87 season had crappy animation; especially coming off the good-looking movie that summer. Near the time Optimus Prime returned, episodes started to look good again. That was quite a year, with all the futuristic Transformers introduced that year, and the major deaths that happened. It was all set in 2005-2006; I can't believe it's really 2009, now!

A friend reminded me of this episode - I'd forgotten about Grimlock's temporary genius phase! Lol.
