@hatloverxxx I can show you seconday accounts showing the opposite view. HOWEVER, what is more compelling than your 2ndary sources is the lament from someone who suffered from this kidnapping. As far as Muslims wanting to be Janissaries this was a MUCH later phenomena. It was to do with preferential tax treatment. As far as prestigious offices-look at how many viziers WERE NOT Janissaries rather than the few exceptions. Being a Janissary did not guarantee any golden parachute.

I still mourn for those innocent Bosnian Muslims who were killed mercilessly during the war with Serbia in the 1990's. I love and respect Bosnia and Herzegovina. -Dylan, USA.
