  • Topsy turvey upside tomato!

  • MACHO MAN!!!!!

  • Thats okay if you have disc brakes but spraying all over the braking surface of the rim would not be a good idea especially if you have V brakes :)

  • DAHZ WAZUP AGEN BRUHH I TUK MA TIME WIT MY FIXED GEAR ALSO IT TUK ME A MONTH TO GET IT ALL DUN LOL IT USED TO BE A SCHWINN 10 SPEED BIKE WIT BLACK BULL HORNS... N NOW IT DUSNT LUK LIKE ONE

  • Anybody know how to paint an aerospoke good message me.

  • Great video, you seem like a chill dude, and taking your time with everything. 5 *****

  • Whered you buy the steel wool?

  • Y'all just haters.

This nigga knoes how to do it rite!

  • @FoUrCaRaT yes it matters.... Sandpaper is meant for getting rid of paint before you paint something... If you use sandpaper for the imperfections itll just rub off the paint

  • @MLGCamper all bikes shop like to talk shit... Trust if you have a bike brand that they dobt carry they say its cheap and what not... Aerospokes are good dude the price alone should tell you that

  • cutting towards yourself with a razor. You slipped and were 3 inches from an emergency room visit.

  • This is off topic but what would happen if your aero spoke untrues?

  • Yeah im not doing that to my heds

  • Hi I was wondering you are located at because I want to paint an aerospoke and I rather have somebody with experience do it

  • New Fixed gear Blog

    fixedlane.blogspot.com

    Check it out ya'll!

  • are aerospokes good, cause i asked my local bike store, , and they didnt recomend it

  • But good video

  • you put the logo on backwards -_-

  • @TheSaucyStyle thats how its supposed to be

  • good job but that gold paint u used likes to turn green over time

  • Rule #1 of paint prep....DE-GREASE! you dusted and then rubbed it with greasy fingers...wheres the acetone, lacquer thinner, MEK, hell even denatured alcohol, kerosene, or gasoline....but none at all? Not so pro pal...not so pro.

other than that little hiccup, and spraying next to your car, good job.

P.S. Aerospokes are glass filled Nylon, so plastic primer works great on them

  • @MrAnsonHunter lol i used tack cloth for dust removal and my car didnt mind a light indirect paint misting ;) other then that, thanks lol

  • @BackyardAmusement I saw the tack cloth bit BUT...Paint Hates grease of any kind, and silicone even more! For the price of of some latex gloves and a bottle of denatured alcohol you'll Improve your results drastically! trust me, I used to paint machine tools in my younger days. for a REAL PRO job, get some IMRON and catalyst of ebay....give a case of beer to your local auto body guy and BOOM best looking&lasting paint job ever!!!! (unless the local body shop guy drinks the case b4 the job)

  • how many coats of primer?

  • @simplisticd00d i actually only used one coat. plastic primer has crazy good coverage.

  • The funny thing is that its and aerojoke

  • ok thanks

    BackyardAmusement

  • could u show how to paint a frame

  • @100juliomvp you would do it the exact same way just use a metal primer instead of plastic. i would make a vid but i only got one frame stripped right now and ima powdercoat it so i cant.

  • I WANT TO PAINT MY TENY RIM BUT I WILL NEED TO TAKE THE LOGO STICKER OFF ..WERE CAN I FIND ANOTHER LOGO STICKER?

  • @FUMELOKZ you'd have to make one.... just like the one i made in the video. just scan it and recreate it in photoshop. yer not gonna be able to find one.

  • @BackyardAmusement ok thenx i really dont know how to do that but thenx any ways

  • @FUMELOKZ tennys are gay

  • Sweet informative video man!

  • dose it matter if i use sand paper instead of steal wool on the imperfections, on a bike frame, forks, handlebars

  • @FoUrCaRaT you can if u use a small enough grit but i would only do it on metal parts. steel wool is just much more forgiving.

  • @BackyardAmusement ok thanks, i just want to respray my whole bmx bike, but i dont want the paint to be chipped of easily like last time i did my bars

  • @FoUrCaRaT just make sure you prime it and do multiple thin coats that you allow to dry COMPLETELY between coats and itll be fine, oh and make sure its completely clean b4 you start. wash it down with a degreaser.

  • your like the youtube handyman xD. thanks you saved my ass ahahahaha.

  • epic fail placed the aerospoke logo on the wrong side

  • @KILLERxAssassin who even says epic fail? did you just get a computer and stumble across an old thread from '95? however, if you look the logo is the "proper" way on the other side. i did it that way so it would be right side up toward the front no matter what side u are on. good eye though.

  • your the first person i seen use steel wool i thought i was the only smart one lol thumbs up

  • @Scottde420 lmao! only animals use sandpaper

  • ohhh okay my bad dude i didnt finish watching the whole video..but now i see you did mask it..!(:

  • ay brotha did you mask the hub/axle or whatevr its called or the paint wont affect it..?

  • U forgot to clear coat

  • @johngorgis naw, some gold paint is gay like that and it will bubble off if you use a clear coat. the kind i used is the no clear coat kind. its still plenty durable, i got about 700 miles on that rim since this video and there aint no chips or anything and thats even after straight crashing hard as fuck it got all scuffed up but the paint stayed. so yeah :p

  • @BackyardAmusement nice, what type of frame do you ride?

  • @johngorgis im ridin a leader now but the rim was originally painted for a mercier.

  • @forkypine its cool bro, opinions and/or general criticism are fine. however, blatant shit talking will get your eye punched out of its socket (lol if we werent online). :p i could care less if people laugh at me, they wouldnt do it to my face without gettin stabbed in the stomach. people respect me around here, i could paint my shit pink with little hearts on it and no one would say shit. google GARY INDIANA THE MURDER CAPITAL thats where i live, cakish folks get killed every day round here.

  • @forkypine why did you delete your videos pussy? is everyone in New Zealand an annoying little fagot like you?

  • Sick mate from Japan

  • @BackyardAmusement oh my bad dude don't pay attention to the comment below bcuz I looked at the comment first then the message and u answered my question in the message haha thanks dude I really appreciate it

  • @GILBERTO4180 its cool, not a problem.

  • @BackyardAmusement ok thanks dude and one last thing whats the name of the spray thing you used to laminate the sheet?

  • @GILBERTO4180 i left a link for that in the message also :)

  • Wow that came put nice dude and I wanted to ask u where did u get the clear vinyl to make the logo?

  • @GILBERTO4180 u can only get it from one place online that i know of. i will send u the link in a message cuz i cant post links in comments. im tellin u now so u dont think its spam or some other bullshit.

  • @BackyardAmusement Would you please also let me know the name of that laminate in a can stuff?

Also, a big fan of your video, you show all the process (and the patience required) and most don't bother. Respect to you.

  • Nice it came out sick!!

  • @Esegismo1 thanks!

  • good vid man you were patient 7 days

  • @LxTxSURGE thanks bro. lol yeah normally im not but it was balls cold out that week so i couldnt ride any way.

  • Heat gun would have made the sticker process WAY easier.

  • @DanielMaycrest lmao! yeah i thought about that AFTER my 30 minute rim rub

  • @BackyardAmusement Hahaha, I did the same thing taking a sticker off my motorcycle..ended up scratching it when it eventually came off in 10 seconds with the gun lol

  • @DanielMaycrest that sucks!

  • Love it...got my aerospoke for 50 bucks believe it or not but the guy was moving and I jumped on it plus it's the rear wheel...do you still ride yours?

  • @ImakeITHappEN510 nice! i traded a frame for mine on good ol craigs list. yeah i ride that shit almost every day

  • great job man!, i'm being find the way to paint my aerospoke.

  • in this silver part there are the brakes touching it if i paint it will it brake or not and make different sounds????

  • @TheDownloadfreegames i painted over mine because i dont use brakes. if you are going to use brakes i would tape off the machined part and not paint it. it wont make noise or keep you from stopping but it will turn black and end up coming off

  • @BackyardAmusement ok thank you

  • @BackyardAmusement oh ok well thanks for letting me know :)

  • @BackyardAmusement. How much did you get your aerospoke for? How much do they usally cost?

  • @oFOBEKo1 if you get them directly from aerospoke they start around $350 (just for the front) i traded a bike for mine so i technically got that one used(damn near new) for like $250.... good ol' craigslist.

  • Awsome vid!! Exact what I was looking for!!!

  • @fishmemmo thanks bro! glad it was useful

  • What kind of frame do you have? Clean Finish :D

  • @Angel18946 its a leader

  • if you use a hairdryer to get the sticker off, you don't have to mess around with a blade, it's gonna come off much more easyly

  • @cseko85 lol yeah, i actually found that out after i made the video.......

  • @BackyardAmusement Did You Go Over It With An Overcoat ? If Not Has The Paint Chipped Atall Since You Have Done This Process ? Thanks

  • @iMiiK3Y no, the type of gold i used woulda peeled if i would have used a top coat. if you do it right it will hold fine. i've put a few hundred miles on it since its been paint and dont have any chips. one thing though, without a top coat if you get oil on it it will slightly discolor it and theres no way to fix it unless u redo it. but as far as durability goes its fine and gold is one of the "weakest" holding colors and its holding great. hope that helped.

  • Does it being machined affect the finished result?

  • @pimpjuice8921573 nope, it shows the final product in the vid. but if you paint over the side walls dont use breaks because obviously that will fuck the paint up. but if yer riding fixed you shouldnt have any brakes any way :p

  • @BackyardAmusement I see. I was thinking about painting my front machined rim over so I can stop having to see that ugly metallic ring around it. I wasn't sure how it would come out. Thanks! And yeah, Brake-less x)

  • @pimpjuice8921573 just make sure you clean the shit out of it with the steel wool and make sure you get all the dust off cuz obviously paint dont stick to dust/dirt.other then that youll be good, the gold i used isnt even "weatherproof" and after about 300miles so far its holding strong so if you use outdoor paint that shit will be like armor

  • Jeff Spiccoli lives!

  • @Skinhitta lmao! i only get high when i'm awake :p

  • awsome vid dude!

what type of spray paint do u think would be the best or more "durable"?

  • @980primo artprimo(dot)com/catalog/spray-paint-belton-molotow-premium-c-26_35.html thats the best paint for EVERYTHING. however, im just using rustoleum in the vid. if u use plain ass store bought spray (dont use krylon) just put a few extra coats if u want it stronger. as long as you use primer and do it like yer supposed to itll be plenty durable, im pretty rough on my bikes.

  • did you know that the aerospoke logo is silver with red not black?

  • @litomeanbear no shit dumb ass, the video shows me taking the original logo off. i wanted it to be black, keep making stupid comments i'll make your eye black too.

  • @litomeanbear my harsh comment was based on the assumption that you were being smug. however, if you were just trying to help, then i apologize.

  • @DEADGLOW do you have to buy this ? okay thanks.

  • @PANDApoopish no, that link i sent you. you can just download it (the logo) its free.

  • thanks alot!! your awesome

  • @9557927007 thanks!

  • @DEADGLOW thanks bro , and this soft were can make anything such as velocity ? b43 ? and such and such . ?

  • @PANDApoopish honestly, you can make ANYTHING with CS5. however because i used a premade logo i could have used any program that would have opened it.

  • what was that softwere u used to make the logo ? please tell me thanks

  • @PANDApoopish sorry it took so long to respond, in the video im using adobe photoshop cs5. i'll send you a link in a regular message so you can download a vector image of the logo :)

  • whats the point of just one aerospoke rim

  • @GBRO94 You typically see people only using an aerospoke on the front of their bikes because the rear track aerospoke doesn't handle back-pedaling well. The hub is removable and the splined interface wears down if you apply back pressure frequently and the large holes make it slightly easier to get a chain lock through. at least those are the practical rationalizations. but some people just like the way the look, which is ok too. it don't matter to jesus.

  • @GBRO94 racers use aerospoked front wheel because aerodynamic drag is greater at the front wheel a 2% advantage can be had by going aero on the front than it is at the rear wheel the rear wheel is in the aerodynamic "shadow" of the seattube, you can only gain like 0.6% more efficiency back there. So, you gain the greatest aerodynamic benefit by using a aero front wheel. Using an aero rear wheel doesn't give that great a benefit, so some racers have a more "standard" rear wheel.

  • @jessebolla 1 can of primer should be enough depending on what brand you use. 3 cans of paint and 1 clear coat can. what ever brand of paint you decide on make sure you buy the same brand primer and clear coat. mixing brands can mess up the paint job if their chemicals dont mix.

ps. im actually the one in the vid lol just so you know.

  • @jessebolla - That's a trick question. You wouldn't need any paint if someone else was doing it.

  • @secretsather lol, you remind me of someone I am.

  • i seen ur ass @ the city wok orderin that shitty chicken

  • @Chillem4200 shiiiiiiit, you know i be eatin that fried rice!

  • shit turned out nice!
