if you avoid a tackle (which ronaldo did) and as a result you end up losing your balance and going down. usually its not a foul, but in this case, clearly ronalod had BEATEN the keeper, and would have been fouled other wise. but avoided the keepers reckless challenge to avoid an injury, thus ended up losing his balance. i would say 9/10 referees will not reward it as a penalty, but im sure up to this point ronaldo was being fouled like crazy. and the ref had no choice but to reward pk, good call

Whether it's a dive or not is irrelevant. It's a penalty as Schwarzer ATTEMPTED to take Ronaldo down with his leg, and was nowhere near the ball. The rules state an ATTEMPT can be classed as a foul, regardless of contact.
