The prop man solved the problem by scraping thrown pie filling off the set (including splinters and nails!) and used THAT to fill empty pie shells. You can imagine how much those hurt when those were thrown!
Soupy Sales once told me the secrets of throwing pies. First, use unscented shaving cream as pie filling, because it glops better and does not stain. THROW the pie, not just PUSH it into someone's face. And third, use a light pie crust, NOT a metal pan (like the idiots in this video). The metal pan will hurt at the least and break a nose at worst. I have followed Soupy's advice as the thrower (and recipieent) of countless pies over the years on stage, film and on TV.
Lisa and Christine were the ones that put butts in the seats and 7pm at night. My favorite outfit was when Lisa had the "Wonder woman" outfit on :) OMG she was hot!!!!!!!!!!!!
That one pieing reminds me of when I was working at a summer camp two years ago. We had this game where the cabin counsellor (me) had to be covered in shaving cream and the teens, were suposed to, run up with a wet spounge and wring it out on you and the team that had more cream off won.
One boy decided to slam the spounge in my face which I was less then pleased about.
i actually read somehwere that moose wore wigs because she was slimed the most and they didnt want the slime to eventually have a negative effect on her hair. dont know if its true but if it is, its an interesting fact.
Moose only wore wigs in the 1982 season. The "Drugs" episode is from 1981, so this is her real natural hair here, not a wig.
Moose did get slimed a couple times during the '81 season - not in this episode, but in at least 2 episodes (Equal Rights and Transportation, possibly others). And she was slimed LOTS in '82. To my knowledge, the only season in which nothing slap-sticky happened to her was 1986, her last season (but she was only in 5 or so eps anyway).
This was the best show ever, I grew up in the 80's and was my fav. on nickelodeon, moose, lisa, and alistier were amongst my favorites, and damn lisa is hot, and so is moose lol
That first kid's probably a pitcher for a baseball team now.

She actually had a mohawk or something along that line so they gave her a wig to have a normal look. She didn't get slimed that season.
