  • sorry, I did not look close enough. looks good !

  • I did not see the machine work on the block for the crank???

  • @mongose68, It was clearanced for the stroker crank.

  • what did it cost to build

  • old school is always better than new school shit period nd to top it off its a CHEVY!!!

  • old school 383 4 bolt main the way to have itt!!!

  • thats fucken nice bud!!!

  • Nice motor! Dont pay attention to the trolls. Old school stuff was built to last and have so much more character than new shit.

  • u should of put an ls motor in it instead of an out dated 383

  • @floppycock9, Oh dang, what was I thinking?

  • @oakley6575 its still a badass motor you just wont pass inspection and will get really bad mpg

  • @floppycock9, I don't care about gas milage. Its been in my truck for two years now. I just wanted something different. I only know one other truck who has a small block chevy in it.

  • @floppycock9 u do realize there are more than jus one truck that has small block chevys in them like the tahoe suburban both have 350 or 327's in them so i doubt u know jus one other truck that has a small block chevy in them

  • @kingfish197, Are you being serious? I'm talking about a newer style truck with a gen 1 small block chevy in it. Carbureted. I'm not talking about a 1975 truck or suburban. hahaha

  • @oakley6575 great 383 man! Idk what this other guy is talking about to be honest..383 strokers arent outdated for one and are making their way into all sorts of vehicles. My corvette has one in it. Idk if this guy is trying to bash you or what but if its one thing i know is there is nothing practical about the engine. Anyone who has a 383 could care less about gas mileage.. But anyways, do you have a vid of the dyno?

  • @oakley6575 them LS guys think they have the best engines ever lol. they dont know what real power is and how cheap it can be done with "old" technology. they think 400hp is alot lol. shit you can go to blueprint engines and get a reliable 820hp motor for less than 10k with a 2 yr warranty. to reach 800hp out of an LS you will be spending 15-20k for it and it will get the same fuel milage as the older stuff. alot of these people forget how fuel efficient those old cars where.

  • @floppycock9 its not outdated...it has soul.if it still work then its meant to be put into another car/truck untill someone mistreats it enough to kill it.

  • @floppycock9 what is it with you ls guys i guarantee i could make more power way cheaper than your ls engine could do. do you go to the drag races? if you do you will see that 95% of them guys are still using old blocks or dart or merlin still based on old designs. unlike your ls i can buy a 600cid 820hp motor that will run on pump gas for less than 10k. and then you slap a 200 shot of nitrous on it and your potential is over 1000hp. ls engines are nice but over rated for sure

  • nice

  • god damn it i love chevy

  • Where did you get the valve covers?

  • i just started my 383 stroker build. what cam and compression ratio you have in there. what is your goal for power. with the cast rods and crank?

  • @BoostinMx3, I believe this motor is 10:1 compression. I bought a Trick Flow top end kit. Came with heads and cam combo. Specs: Duration 292/ 296, Lift .528/ .539

  • @oakley6575 what did the motor originally come out of?

  • @drzipperhead, Not sure. I bought the bare block and got it machined.

  • awsome motor and sure to be a nasty truck but im curious why you didnt build a 6.0 or 5.3? a lq9 6.0 with a few mods cam make tons of power and really cheap also! just wonderin and i guess you want to be different.

  • @BLACKLACDTS, Yea i've never seen a new truck with an old motor in it. So I guess I just wanted to be different.

  • @oakley6575 i have seen a few of these combos like yours in newer lowrider show trucks but they are show. actually there is a 07 truck dominating the show scene rite now with a 383 smallblock in a pure white 07 4 door silverado layin frame on big rims! nice job keep on modifyingf!

  • @oakley6575 i like taht a lot dude lol oldschool motor in a new style now i can imagine how awsome that bve awsome power and handle great

  • @BLACKLACDTS Because they're junk compared to what he built.

  • @FordGarbage not really. the new ls motors dominate the old small blocks in every aspect. thats why people are pulling there small blocks for ls motors. the thing is you can buy a junkyard escalade lq9 6.0 iron block put a set ot ported l92 (ls3)heads,ported l76 intake and a comp cam and make more power then this stroker motor is with a stock bottom end and all factory made gm parts. my aluminum LS2 makes 400hp and 400torqe bone stock and gets 20mpg what stock small block does that?

  • @BLACKLACDTS No they don't. Sucker. LSJunk.

  • @FordGarbage its clear you dont know anything about performance nor have you ever raced or you would know.dont think im a chevy boy cause i also own a 93 mustang 5.0 lx. educate yourself then speak kid.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Hahahahaha. 5.0's are a joke. Hahahaha. Moron.

  • @FordGarbage hahahahahahahaha your a joke. hahahahah moron. educate yourself idiot.

  • @FordGarbage, Your a dumbass.

  • @oakley6575 Baaahahaha. Yeah ok. Homo.

  • what brand are your wire looms

  • you dont have a pcv or breathers

  • @hirantz, thanks for the reminder man. They were drilled before starting the motor on the dyno.

  • wat name of diz song

  • badass. How fast is your silverado now? I personally like it a lot a SBC 383 stroker in a 2003 silverado is extremely unique

  • hey just wondering where you got those awesome valve covers and also the wire looms? price?

  • @Mw2Favorites, Driveline Service in Las Vegas. 1800-216-1632. Call and ask for Jake.

  • hey im thinkin about doing this to a 04 that has that 4.3 but what am i lookin into when i do this is it actually gonna work out with out cuttin anythign up like my ac box lol i just wanna put the v6 drop in the v8 ?

  • @fordboy111591, you don't have to cut anything up. I have the a/c compressor and all the front pullies off the v6 running on the v8. I have everything running correctly, like stock, with my carb'ed v8. Thanks

  • diggin the carb in the fuel injected car.

  • where did you get those valve covers?? and also how do you like the intake im thinking about getting one?

  • @TRUEFOOTAGE, I got the valve covers through Driveline Service of Las Vegas. I liked the manifold but it was more for higher revving motors. Anything above 6000rpms. I only run my truck to 6000 so I changed to more of a street manifold. Better throttle response off the line.

  • Someday i want the chevy orange version of those valve covers. i have some cheapy tall ones to clear my valve lift for now. those covers are pricy tho :'(

  • Nice vid. I wanna build 1

  • Hey, love the motor i was just wondering if it was a L31 vortec...? I have one and i am trying to find a better intake or something because i still want to use and EFI system but the stock one can only handle one type of injectors and they are really limited. I was just wondering if you knew were or what i could do....there is a marine intake out there but i rather not go that direction so any help would be greatly apreeseated

  • Well if you want to keep things simple, look at FAST's EZ-EFI. It is a self tuning system that bolts right up to a regular carbureted intake manifold.

  • oakley6575 wat do u think i should do i have a 350 block im puttin a stroker crank eagle rods and pistons like yours should i go with carb or tbi?

  • The only reason I went with the carb setup was because it was easier and a lot cheaper. They have a new EFI system that I'm thinking about buying. Its easy and efficient. I'm kinda getting sick of the carb. I want to buy EZ-EFI made by FAST.

  • @oakley6575 im getting my 383 built as i post this . its gona be in a 99 tahoe and im using my factory EFI 9.9:1 comppession 218/224 cam and ECM tune. this is gona be a daily driver and my goal is 1 hp per cubic inch. I will post some videos when its done next month or so

  • You should have fuel injection on a new truck like that!

  • And what would be unique about that?

  • efi V8 is more unique than a carbed V8. Sorry for hating on it, it's a sweet truck, I like how you used an auto tranny, thats unique for a performance street truck.

  • All new trucks on the road right now are V8's with EFI. Do you see a any new cars or trucks with a carb on them.......

  • 350 block with a 400 crank is a 383

  • @shure234

    with a .030 over bore

  • yay yay yay get rid of the pussy 4.3 :) :)

  • :'( lol

  • Chevy 383s are a good combo for anything. GM even sells crate 383s now.

I built one for my '34 Ford 3-window...will scare your girlfriend if you nail it...Great video, thanks

  • @nocrap62

Oh shit man, that's crazy, my pops built a 383 stroker for his 31 ford 3 window, and you're not lyin' man, things a fuckin' rocket.

  • thats a sexy motor! i want to put this in my 2000 5.3L silverado xcab so bad

  • I would of gone with a 400 Small Block Chevy with Edelbrock Aluminum heads and roller rockers. The double pumper is awesome for drags, i like to off road so i would have gone with a HOLLEY Truck Avenger Carb.

  • Well I would have put a blown 572 big block in it on alcohol but I'm an 18 year old kid who needs a solid daily driver. I drive it to college and race it at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday nights. It's perfect for me.

  • Cool. Nice Truck Too. 5/5

  • I so really want one for my truck, just too expensive to do while im stuck in the UK

  • what kind of pistons are those?

  • Speed Pro Hypereutectic pistons.

  • ok the black clips that hold the spark plugs to what looks like the heads at 1:20 where can i buy those for my 383

  • It is just a wire loom kit. You can find them at any speed shop or anywhere on the internet. Jegs or Summit will have them. Thanks. You can subscribe to my videos and I will be uploading a couple new vids this week. Thanks again.

  • hahahah goona be a big differance

  • nice

  • hi all look, can smon tell me what the name of this song :)

  • My Dad has a 02 silverado with a stock little 4.3 v6 i'd love to fix up like this!

    Great video and awesome truck.

    5 stars

  • hey man i just recently bought a stroker engine myself, what size cam would be a pretty good choice, but im only boared over 30, any ideas

  • You can put as big of a cam as your heads can handle. Just talk to the company that makes your heads and see how much lift your valves can handle so they clear the pistons. I recently put a bigger cam in my truck as you can see in my videos. It has a lift of .529 and .539. 292/296 duration. Thanks

  • wow thats almost the same as the one my fiance' just finished building me except ours is fuel-injected. awesome

  • my thoughts exactly

  • man u should have built an ls1 6.0

  • Thanks, I will definitely do that. What was I thinking.

  • Why when he couldve put a 400 Chevy Small Block in it?

  • @offroadingmachine007-- an ls1 has way more potential than a 400

  • Yeah, I was thinking of a totaly diferent engine when I posted that coment. But yes a corvete motor is much more powerfull.

  • @offroadingmachine007

Probably cause most the blocks left out there are junk, good ones are hard to find and have too many potential issues.

Not hating on the dudes truck at all.....Im sure the 383 moves it very well but to others thinking about it youre taking a HUGE step backwards in tech. Cyl heads, cam etc etc. If you can afford to stay LSx do it.

Keep the brakes too, they stop better than holes in the floorboard. lol.

Again no offense to the OP he did what he wanted , cool

  • nice engine! im guessing 440 hp and 475 ft lbs of torque?

  • Yea. Around 450 and 465.

  • damn dats nice dude, how much did that all cost?

  • Man, engine looks real nice. Nothing like a fresh built, ground-pounding 383. I gotta ask... do you have to pass emissions inspection in your home state?

  • Yes. I don't know how i'm going to get around that yet. Check out my other vids. I just posted some of it running in my truck. Thanks

  • Looking good
