What i meant was that the modern Japanese are very secular and have no real religious views. Although Shinto and Buddhism both have their own take on the afterlife they are more ceremonial than anything and certainly not something that is meaningful to the majority of the population. I am well aware of Japan's religious practices and its history. Communication is difficult but if you are implying that i don't care about or respect the Japanese cultural and religious beliefs then you are wrong.

The Japanese have no views on the afterlife? Have fun man. If it's hard to communicate with people it might not be just the language. This culture's religious practices predate Christ my friend.
