knock 'em dead, kid was really explosive... I think it was their best performance in the whole set. first off, vince's microphone actually worked. the song was played beautifully and super clean by nikki, mick and tom. and playing it right after the softer merry-go-round was pure genius... it gives it a lot of power. these guys are the best thing to have happened to rock and roll in the past 30 years.
@jmyelz Well of course! Would you think that if they had looked like nice behaving suitmen without make up or stuff and somebody would have taken them as a serious rock band`?
@Phaellos Well, maybe, actually! I wonder if their first album would not have been respected more had they dressed differently or had the been more articulate in the interviews (other than "awwwwriiiight, time to party" etc)."Too fast for love" is a fine rock n'roll album with well-crafted songs - much more than their latter records (ie "Girls Girls Girls" etc) that are more "glam/hair metal.
@Phaellos It's funny because I had no idea what this band looked like when I heard "Too fast for love" for the first time. Not that it makes any difference, just saying. I asked my next door neighbor (who was 13, I was 9)to make me a copy because he played it and I liked it a lot. Great memories. For years, it was all I knew about this band.
Poor Vince, his mic was going in and out. He might have felt pissed on the inside. I encourage that if anyone has anything Motley Crue, POST IT!!! It would make lives happier everywhere.
Why, oh WHY were they so good? Please? And I grew up listening to them! They are all ATTITUDE, nothing more. They are rock 'personas', which is why they were so "good"...Queensryche, for example, is genuinely good musically....Motley crue were an debauchatorial ACT!
They should had played this song earlier in the set, because the vocals need to be cleaner, and softer. After singing the strenuous songs, this one loses quality.
Awesome concert though, I would kill a baby to go see them live back in the day.
Yes i agree check out the Michael Schenker Group albums from that period , they sound so good, the Assault Attack one is very good. Rainbow , Gillan , Deep Purple and Warlock all have very good sounding albums from back then . There was a different feeling in the music in that time. The songs didn't sound so commercial .
i know did u see the list of bands that played that day?! *drool* man im pissed i wasnt there! born in 1988 =/ fortunately i got to go see Crue at CrueFest at this same venue this year and they fucking ROCKED!!
ah, one more thing: mick mars is the fucking MAN!

@angryprometeus.
Wrong.
First motley show was played at the starwood. Nikki had a day job there and convinced his manager to let them play their first gig there.
