I don't see why so many people are complaining about the guitarist doing the vocal parts. They can't have the guy tour with them, but I suppose that it could have been a backing track as well. The only thing that annoys me about those comments is that everyone praises Shagrath in an almost worship like status. Those vocals work well here to represent the dark figure as intended in the story, but the vocals in general just suck ass. Death metal is terrible, and the vocalists are as well.

However...Not all death metal involves screeching and banging loudly on a drum. Check out melodic death metal, bands like insomnium, or so.

@arrowisb I actually like Dethklok. I guess what I meant was that a vocalist that isn't proper singing in key, and music without a real, progressive melody just sounds raw and bad. I guess the conclusion is that I judge death metal based on the criteria that music is meant to be melodic because it's music (but I understand that there are melodic death metal bands which actually do write decent music).

I call it the "cheat pedal" b/c when artists use it ... it takes no effort too use their own voice ... lol ... but it's ok for this song b/c Shagrath is the original voice and he can't always tour w/ the band for the song :)

@emiblindside the band kamelt was formed in tampa ,florida by thomas youngblood and richard warner.to be fair roy kahn helped put these guys on top and he is from norway.roy does have one of the best voices of metal but thomas youngblood is from tampa florida and is one of the best guitarist in the world,and casey grillo is from enid,oklahoma and is one of the best drummers in the world.kamelot and nightwish have the best talent top to bottom around.

@MrMarcoisgod Thomas Youngblood is an excellent guitarist, I saw them live last month with Fabio Leone, I wasn't really that into em before, saw a few videos on utube a few years ago & liked Rule the World etc. & only really went bcus it was something to do on a Tuesday & I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY. I've seen many bands live from many metal genres & the guitar sound & tone was simply the best I've ever heard, he was so heavy yet clear, the band as a unit was amazing. THEY RULE THE METAL WORLD.

But c'mon... we've got german thrash (Sodom), italian death (Hour of Penance), dutch symphonic metal with female singers (Within Temptation and entire scandinavia which is Melodeath (Amon Amarth), black (Dimmu Borgir), folk (Korpiklaani) and death (Behemoth)! Not to forget, the UK, where most metal pioneers come from (Iron Maiden)
