Schindler's List is real masterpiece of cinematography. Master Steven Spielberg deserved that Oscar. Liam Neeson, Ben Kinhsley, Ralph Fiennes, Caroline Goodall, Embeth Davidtz and all others did a brilliant job. They didn't make decent War movies since 2000 (except for Enemy at the Gates (2001) and Black Book (2006)). There's no doubt about it, this film will be a classic in decades, even hundreds of years to come in cinema.

As everyone knows Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed thousands of people. When the decision was made the USA knew that the Japanese were about to surrender anyway because they had asked the USSR to act as intermediatorys. Does this mean that it is not genocide with the war coming to a close without the need for so many civilians to die?
@1stwalker Well, that first off is not a genocide. The targets of the bombings were indiscriminate, so it couldn't be a genocide. The targets were whoever was in the cities at the time, not anyone by race/class/age ect. Second, the U.S. asked Japan to surrender. They wouldn't. They still had their whole island left to defend. They wanted to in fact keep going after both Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but the emperor intervened and stopped them.

@1stwalker Well, that first off is not a genocide. The targets of the bombings were indiscriminate, so it couldn't be a genocide. The targets were whoever was in the cities at the time, not anyone by race/class/age ect. Second, the U.S. asked Japan to surrender. They wouldn't. They still had their whole island left to defend. They wanted to in fact keep going after both Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but the emperor intervened and stopped them.

If this is the case then a bigger attack on the Japanese people would be targetted killing of the Japanese people (even if others were in the area as was the case in the twin towers). America wanted to write the treaty so that there were "no losers" of the war. Europe's subsequent harsh decisions toward Germany is what caused the second war, NOT what America suggested for the treaty. you call jews in isreal colonalist and you beleive they don't belong there. so i would say, using your theory, you do not belong here or in brasil... both the U.S. and Brasil were conquered by anglo europeans.. Brasil was a port. colony US an english colony get it!

@westsidefred I'm not callin Jews colonialists, you ASSHOLE...I think the Jews have the RIGHT to have their own state...what I'm saying is wrong is: Israel is using a colonialist APARTHEID policies towards the Arab Palestinian population of Gaza and the West Bank...they're attacking civilian population with chemical weaponry (white phosphorus) and depriving them of they basical rights, such as their right to the land and the right to come and go as they want.

@westsidefred the Palestinian violence is provocateds by the Isreali Apartheid policies, which restrict the freedom of movement of the Palestinian people and deprive them of they rights to the land (West Bank and Gaza Strip), which is NOT part of Israel and do NOT belongs to Israel
