Vancouver snows 5 cm and they stuck.....you can tell a non Vancouvernite because they have two sets of tires...one all season one winter........even though its ice good snowtires makes a huge difference.The girls in Vancouver are fit though,you hardly see any obese people in BC.

The reason these people are gettig stuck is because the idiots are using too much gas. When you spin your tires they generate heat which melts the ice a little creating a much slicker surface. It also causes a divot in the ice that the tire sits in. Most people (in most any snowy country) could use a few winter driving classes.

Getting around efficiently on snow and ice has two parts: preparing your vehicle, and preparing yourself with skills and sound judgement. If you do both, over time, driving in snow becomes easy and fun.

There are hardly any snow in Van and if there is, its almost impossible to get icy cuz all the cars and snow plaws got rid of them so quickly! Different than what you wouldve expect from canada.....

The buses here do use chains IF needed.. Every winter we get trailers from Poland, Estonia, France and they can not drive furth into Norway if they does not have chains with them. Thats because in our country is known for alot of snow, ice some places.. and we have had crashes including trailers Vs car..

Why does not USA have drivinglessons on the ice like the rest of us does BEFORE we can the driverlisence?

Vancouver only gets a week or two of snow every winter. It would be impossible to train and/or test everyone in that time span.  Besides, most Vancouver drivers have enough trouble on dry pavement.
