ppl dont how to drive its unbelievable i am 16 im not gonna say much because i dont drive but its commen sence when u drive on ice u dont floor it obviously ur not gonna go anywhere u should press the pedal slowly -__-
Never drive in the snow without winter tires, chains, a shovel, ice scraper, and kitty litter/gravel, and some emergency supplies like blankets, food, water in case you are stranded somewhere remote.
Vancouver snows 5 cm and they stuck.....you can tell a non Vancouvernite because they have two sets of tires...one all season one winter........even though its ice good snowtires makes a huge difference. The girls in Vancouver are fit though, you hardly see any obese people in BC.
The guy in the TSX should have turned off his traction control and floored the gas, they would have made it up if they did that. Winter tires in Vancouver are overkill and a waste of money.
@Srbijarulez Flooring it is the WORST thing to do in snow. You need to lug the engine and put the minimal torque through the wheels to move the car, preferably using the clutch. Oh wait, North Americans don't know how to use a 3rd pedal, never mind drive.
The reason these people are gettig stuck is because the idiots are using too much gas. When you spin your tires they generate heat which melts the ice a little creating a much slicker surface. It also causes a divot in the ice that the tire sits in. Most people (in most any snowy country) could use a few winter driving classes.
@6boomer9 You are entirely correct. Most people aren't taught winter driving techniques, or aren't taught the proper ones. Getting around efficiently on snow and ice has two parts: preparing your vehicle, and preparing yourself with skills and sound judgement. If you do both, over time, driving in snow becomes easy and fun.
yah i moved to Van from Idaho, and honestly, ppl here do not know how to drive on the snow if there is any! There are hardly any snow in Van and if there is, its almost impossible to get icy cuz all the cars and snow plaws got rid of them so quickly! Different than what you wouldve expect from canada.....
I wished i lived in America. Here in Holland its so boring. Just love America like stores, city's just love it. If i would win the Lottery i would move to America thats my dream.
@theroytjuu Don't worry dude, you aren't missing that much, it gets pretty boring here too.. But there should be a lot of discounts in popular tourist areas, take a vacation.
The lower mainland is screwed if there is ever a real disaster. We get 2 cm of snow all hell breaks loose. Even if it rains heavy, there is chaos. Considering it RAINS FOR SIX MONTHS OF THE YEAR.
why does everyone think "o im just gonna floor it and hope for the best"? thats just gonna make it worse ppl. very little throttle gets u a lot further cause the tires actually get a chance to find traction when they spin slowly
I don't miss that wreched place what so ever! Give BC drivers a dry sunny day, they'll find a way to cock it up! I think now that BC gets AT LEAST a week of snow, ya'll should invest in some all seasons, or some chains
ya man, i had a teacher in school the talked in the same mono tone, he was like seventy and whore short khaki shorts and his socks to his knees with his sandals
basically ever person that spins there tyres is polishing the road so its like a chain reaction. wut they should do is if the slidding really slowly let of the clutch you might feel your self being tugged a little bit bit if you start slidding aagain you may aswell get some help
The buses here do use chains IF needed.. Every winter we get trailers from Poland, Estonia, France and they can not drive furth into Norway if they does not have chains with them. Thats because in our country is known for alot of snow, ice some places.. and we have had crashes including trailers Vs car..
Why does not USA have drivinglessons on the ice like the rest of us does BEFORE we can the driverlisence?
Vancouver only gets a week or two of snow every winter. It would be impossible to train and/or test everyone in that time span. Besides, most Vancouver drivers have enough trouble on dry pavement.
@deedubya286 lol I was gonna say... most vancouver drivers can't drive in excellent driving conditions, snow just highlights their poor driving abilities and driving safety.
It must be so liberating to be able to sit in your house filming people struggle to drive on ice and pass pointless fucking idiotic comment after pointless idiotic comment and point out peoples flaws. Perhaps they should all have parked up and come round your dumb ass house for the night. Then you could have told them how idiotic they were to their faces.
Or perhaps they should have gotten SNOW tires for WINTER driving like intelligent people DO. By the way YOU watched it TOO LOLOL , Sounds you were one of them LOLLOL what is this LIMEY WEEK ? oh and see a DENTIST !!
Nothing like a bit of casual racism to make a person feel better.
Just for clarification as I know there are an awful lot of retards on Youtube, my comments were aimed towards the idiots who sat in their house laughing and commenting on people struggling to drive in the snow.
Ohh & by the way because I'm British I would have gotten out there & fucking pushed the car up the road because us Brits actually help each other out. Have a nice day!
RELAX dude your talking about CANADIANS remember them from WW1 and WW2....we could have STAYED HOME !! YOU R not going to push that on ice and then maybe get hit, Morons have to learn for themselves or NOT , thats VANCOUVER .
it really amazes me how ppl know not how to drive in icy conditions. I mean, i drove under such conditions ONCE in my life (doesnt snow that much here in Portugal) and i still know that you have to start the car going in the 2nd gear. How come they didn´t understand that in reverse the car went ok, but not in first gear?!?
the key here is grip, too much spinning, too less grip. Spin the wheels less, more grip. Tchananh!
I was really surpised that the SUV didn't make it. I really thought those things were made for these kind of conditions, let alone that the tires the car has look like decent off-road tires with more grip then your average tires. And is it just me or was it also front wheel drive?
No point in helping these morons with a push, unless it's to the side of the road where they can wait for a tow or whatever. Helping them on their way just means they will get another chance to do something stupid.
the suv was front wheel drive, and i drive a 04 f250 diesel 4x4 with BFG all terrain tires i wouldn't have even spun stupid people get a 4x4 with good tires.
he just made the road more icy by pushing the throttle so hard. Instead try very slowly push the throttle and see if there is still traction between tires and road. If still the car doesn't move then you're really screwed
I found this video better in mute.
