what exactly is that they do that is so bad. did they refuse to hire you??? cause they hire anyone and obviously you weren't smart enough. you call me Einstein well at lest i know that those balls you found arent put in the kiln how would they stay in there maybe you should do some research into how a dry kiln works? do you homework dumbass. derrr da derrr
Here is the second step in making portland cement.
"2 The clinker is then cooled and ground to a fine powder in a tube or ball mill. A ball mill is a rotating drum filled with steel balls of different sizes (depending on the desired fineness of the cement) that crush and grind the clinker. Gypsum is added during the grinding process. The final composition consists of several compounds: tricalcium silicate, dicalcium silicate, tricalcium aluminate, and tetracalcium aluminoferrite."
do u know anything about welding??? i dont see tons of this shit your talking about. how long you lived near the plant anyways??? why don't you go back to where ever you came from. you must have deep pockets too because you realize that shutting down that plant and getting it to leave would take $1,523,735.98 from our town. i dont wanna see that you may not care about this place but i do. and since you are the only person who gives a fuck why not shut up.
So your a know-it-all, huh? You don't see "tons of this" because it's mixed in with the RR bed rock. When the snow melts take a closer look. And no, I don't have "deep pockets", I worked in the construction industry for most of my life busting by rear-end. FYI, I happen to be quite fond of the Town of Thomaston, and it closely resembles my home town. It's not the Town, and I am not the "only person" who cares. Do your homework.
That "clinker" may just be that. But not the clinker you are thinking about. Railroads used clinkers (spent burnt coal from steam locomotives) as a road bed base for their tracks.
Now that you mention it, that makes the most sense yet. I can actually picture the RR employees emptying the "spent coal" and who knows what else may have been thrown in the firebox for those old steam engines? I.E. bottles, plastics, or anything else that may produce heat for steam, and may have "melted" which then produced the "chunky" stuff I saw everywhere??
However, I still wouldn't rule out Dragon adding to the RR beds with their "spent" coal as they burn thousands of tons of it,annualy.
You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Welding railroad tracks dosent leave huge amounts of flux. Flux is burnt at such a high temperature that it practically evaporates, you moron. Have you ever soldered a copper pipe using flux? or use a mig, tig, or stick welder?? None of those produce any substance like that. Go back to school and learn something, dummy.
actually your the dumb ass, dumb ass the flux turns into that slag you are seeing there maybe you outta look it up, pretty much it turns in a molten substance that protects the weld from the atmosphere. which prevents it from becoming contaminated and producing a poor weld i do know more about welding than you could ever imagine. so get fucked!!!
Yip, it's ernotha smat won, i see. Wat a saprize. You havnt gatten any smata sence you wrote fiv months ago, hav ya? Ahyah, Duhhha... Duhhh....?
Hey, bonehead, no welder produces "tons" of slag. If you can conjure one up, I invite you to demonstrate it for me. Prove that or invite me to see the RR tracks being welded, even better.
Your last comment shows your true colors. You have my condolences there. You benightedly ignorant bonehead.
From my perspective I can see what your issues are, but really... people do need to work. Are you going to tell me that you don't purchase any items from any companies that contribute to harming the earth?
After a little checking it appears that the cement plant and the quarry have been there for over 60 years, I'm betting that the cement plant and quarry were there when you moved in. So, basically if you don't like it, move.
No, I am not telling you any such thing. In fact, anyone who drives an automobile contributes to environmental problems. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
The cement plant has been here since 1927, and that isn't the point.
Since you think it is so financially easy to get out from under a mortgage and get into a new home, then why don't you help me out, and I will. Bottom line, Dragon Cement needs to be held accountable for what they do.
Did you figure that out all by yourself or did someone help you? Any employment I engage in or did engage in is none of your concern and is irrelevant. From your last comment it is apparent that you are a benightedly ignorant person who has no regard for the future of this planet, and indicates how callow you are. To the contrary, it's people like you who lack compasion for our environment that are ultimately responsible for "ruining this country".
Greetings from the West Coast. Check out my obsession - CP RAIL KILLER CULVERT and CP RAIL ABANDONED CULVERT. Good luck with bringing your concerns to the attention of your community. These are serious issues. In Canada, the government has a double standard for big corporations, especially the railways. Basically they let them get away with crimes against the environment. But if a citizen was found damaging the environment there would be substantial fines and punitive action. Crazy, eh?
Thanks very much for your positive reinforcement. I use to live out in Washington State. Kirkland, and then Bellvue to be exact, and I now oh too well about the Salmon population. I use to go fishing in many of the rivers, catch and release for the most part, unless I was hungry for one. Then I realized just how bad some of the "Runoff" was, and that stoped me from fishing for Salmon. Again, Thanks and Take Care.
Just for future reference, if you're anywhere 33 feet either side of the centerline of the track, you're probably on the railroad right-of-way. The area 15 feet outside of any rail is a danger zone. Walking or standing on a track is a civil violation in Maine, and can cost you a $100 fine if you get summonsed. (Title 23 MRSA, §7007) Going into a posted area (and there's a new sign at Rt. 131) is criminal trespass, a Class E crime. (17-A MRSA, §402)
First, Thanks for the info. Second you must be an attorney as I see the "sub-section" marking, which usually only attorneys have on their computers or software for.
Anyway, I was aware that people are not suppose to be on RR tracks, but I am gathering evidence for ligigation, and there is exception there. If I am wrong about that then I would deal with the summons in Court. No Trespassing Sign posted when I was there, and like I said, it is for EVIDENCE for TRIAL.
2) If you read the Maine statutes cited above, §7007 does not require signs to be posted, and neither law makes any exception for "gathering evidence for litigation."
3) The four people who were surprised by a train on 04/23/06 in Warren were probably also "aware" they weren't supposed to be there, but two of them died as a result of their trespassing.
4) If you were "aware" before, you should be "more aware" now: railroad property is private property. *Stay away.*

1) IANAL (I Am NOT A Lawyer).

1)Maybe you should consider being one then?
2)"neither" cited law may mention gathering evidence, but there is case law to that effect. I looked at them. FYI.
3)I am not sure why you are concerned about what I do, but it's nice to know someone cares so much about my safety. Thank God.
And it is unfortunate those two people died, but I am not "Fishing" from a Train Trestle Bridge where there is no where run except jump off. DUH.
4)I'll bring a tape measure next time then.
Have a nice Day.
