damn i love this car! i have a 72 and im gonna put a 388 in with an xe 268 cam. I want to know how fast it will be! is that 415 at the wheels or the crank? please tell me your setup, im really curious! man this is such an awesome car! you have alot to be proud of. by the way thank you for actually knowing how to shift, unlike ricers. lol it just goes to show that muscle car guys are the superior drivers
We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 (1%) API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs/Injection and tank clean and rustfree!
Cool car and some very cool vids. I notice at 1:22 and more so at 1:54 what appears to be wheel hop during the burnout. My 70 Vette does the same thing, but i think you and I may be the only two in the world that have that problem. I have tried everything to fix it with NO success. Is the rear suspension in your car lowered by use of longer trailing arm bolts? I think it may be caused by incorrect trailing arm angle. Check out my vids and please contact me. Thanks.
I think the wheel hop you heard was possibly due to the road, the first 2 burnouts are on entrance ramps with groves cut in the road and the last one is on solid pavement? and it had no whell hop...? I guess I have never notice a lot of wheel hop.
@bcarby Ben I hear what you are saying, but the vast majority of 63 to 82 Vettes don't have wheel hop, just us lucky couple of guys. It's definately a deffect and fixable.
@540merlin Hey this is my 69 vette I sold to get the 69 Yenko Camaro!
Looking back this car was cool, but was nothing compared the the 69 yenko camaro.... I thought I was doing something to get 3rd gear scratch... Childs play now....

@540merlin
nah my stock '69 350 does that, it's just the car squatting on it's rear haunches because of the power and primitive suspension hah :)

I think the "wheel hop" is the camera not mounted to something solid... It jiggled through the whole video. (oh and he spelled "muscle " wrong.)
