yeh american atc is crap. They can push tin alright!...but cleared to land number 5, land and hold short etc etc and amount of runway incursions they have, not the safest bunch in the world!

Once you have been doing the ATC for a while, you will begin to understand all the taxi routes, from the tower you can see all the taxi routes,but sometimes you get idiots that just taxi accross the grass and get to the start of runway instead of taxiing short of runway
