I have done my review of The Real Network. Although I was excited maybe this would be it. A real news network without political bias. This is a tongue in cheek liberal reporting. I'll just turn on MSNBC or CNN and get the same message. I won't slam Fox cuz their anchor women are smokin hot! I'll keep my $10 a month for now...looks like I'll be needing it preety soon anyway. This is quite a bit different than CNN. First of all the term "liberal" in this context is semantically useless. Second, the medium is the message. The format used here allows a much more in depth exploration of the topics. That allows you to make a more reasoned analysis. I agree it isn't worth $10. DemocracyNow! is much better.

I have done my review of The Real Network. Although I was excited maybe this would be it. A real news network without political bias. This is a tongue in cheek liberal reporting. I'll just turn on MSNBC or CNN and get the same message. I won't slam Fox cuz their anchor women are smokin hot! I'll keep my $10 a month for now...looks like I'll be needing it preety soon anyway. That's if it doesn't become worth a penny a year from now.

This is quite a bit different than CNN. First of all the term "liberal" in this context is semantically useless. Second, the medium is the message. The format used here allows a much more in depth exploration of the topics. That allows you to make a more reasoned analysis. I agree it isn't worth $10. DemocracyNow! is much better.

Harry Truman is now considered a great president despite his incredibly low approval ratings upon leaving office.
He - like Reagan - was not so great a president as he is made out to be by so many people.
When George Bush cites Harry Trumans rehabilitation by history as the precedent for his vision of his own presidency he is absolutely correct.
He is hoping to rewrite history along the same lines that history was rewritten by Truman. Truman was elevated by 50s nostalgia.

Problem in American politics: our system of politics and government and corporatism locks us into using these two gawd awful political parties which are no longer any good. We need to find the modern Thomas Jeffersons and Abraham Lincolns who can start completely new American political parties. Failing that, I see continued American disasters as far as the eye can see. I recommend reading David Brinckley's book, "Washington Goes to War" as an antidote to this modern perpetual war nation statism.

The best thing to do when reading/hearing news is to cross check what you read/hear with other sources. In the US, cross check MSNBC with Fox. That is a good extreme example. Everyone has some sort of bias. Part of understanding comes from comprehending our own individual bias.

The FCC in better times allowed one person to control maybe 6 outlets, which could be a combination of radio stations, television. The limitation was the democratic guarrantee that we would eventually get realistic, unbiased news coverage. That is not the case anymore. Currently there, I think, about four people running all media in the U.S. Whether conservative or liberal--a bad idea. Hitler took control of all media.
