Why not the woman just having a hideous boil or scar, and maybe cameraman yelled to ask why, she turned to yell the reason, and cameras were just moved after.

My theory is she hurt her ear or it's bleeding and she has either an ice pack on it or something to compress the ear to absorb the blood.

She's is talking to the man in front of her who is probably her annoyingly fast walking husband.

Sorry but it's the inventor Nikola Tesla. Away from his lab he had to keep in constant contact with what was going on back home with his assistants. In 1928 Tesla was still very famous & had to keep a low profile the FBI was investigating him thinking he had something to do with espionage. SILLY FEDS LOL!
