The Prophets at the head of the Church give up their lives to service. Everyday they may receive a meal ticket or two, and their trips to other countries for the Church are covered. But everything else, comes from their retirement funds. They do not get paid for their great service. Well, at least not during this life.
hey - I saw this film in a scriptwriting class at my uni and lovved it! It was hilarious - in fact we have been watching and writing about many films on that AFTRS Reel - I was wondering where we can see a full version of this film because I'd love to show some people.
Well I was fortunate to see the whole film on SBS the other night (just happend to switch over at right time, loved it. Did not see who won short film oscer but you guys have got what it takes. You looked like you had a ball over in tinsal town. Now time to do some fundraising for the next movie WE WANT MORE!!!!
Is this another movie falsely portraying Mormons? I'm all about freedom of religion, speech etc, but it sucks that someone would make a film misleading viewers about the church and its missionaries. I hope its not another one of those films, but hey, when was the last time a movie correctly portraying any religion nominated for an Emmy?

Reading other film reviews, the "Elder" with the messed up look on his face has apparently either been "involved inappropriately" with a potential investigator of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Also when the guy says that the investigator prefers "one on one" lessons there are no one on one lessons given by missionaries of the church. It is strictly prohibited even for a Male missionary to be alone with any female, or male, during their service.
Pastor? The LDS Church does not refer to Pastor as a title.
ldsconvert is right, everytime someone tries to make a film about a certain Church that they do not belong to. They get it wrong, and typically they change the meaning of everything to fit it how they want people to think.
I've learned never to believe anything any one says about religion unless they are an active member of that religion. I've heard things about aliens, idol worshiping, human sacrifice, the list goes on! Crazy!
