  • Why didn't they just kill Khan's parents or grandparents when they went back in time in Star Trek IV to get the whales?

  • @robvollman According to one of the books, The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh I believe, Khan was already alive in 1986, the year of which Star Trek IV and the whale affair and was well on his way to power then as he didn't fall until 1996, so killing his parents and/or grandparents then would have made no difference.

  • Sure'd make the movie less short....

  • Hmmm, this is only slightly toned down from the original version, isn't it?

  • You did good! :)

  • XDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • It was great man. The whole movie would have been about 15 minutes long, no scratches on the Enterprise and Spock would still be alive. I don't know what the hell would have happened to those whales though. LOL

  • I played this just knowing I was going to be Rickroll'd. Still pretty cool though.

  • I always wondered why Chekov didn't notice one of the planets was missing.

  • @TomatoeAssassin Yeah, it's one of those big things that you would notice is missing. Chekov losing a planet, Sulu losing his virginity to M'Ress. (Not kidding about Sulu. It's in the comics.)

  • LMAO, another funny ass alternative ending. The second movie wouldn't have ever happened if chekov didn't just turn around the ship! Khan was the best movie though in my opinion.

  • Are you sure, this could be out of adjustment

I suppose it could be (whisper)KHAN! Captain we have to get out of here.

  • There was a great alternate ending that I can't find anymore. It combined footage of Spock leaving the Enterprise in TMP in the spacesuit with this movie. In it Spock flees the Enterprise with Kirk looking at disbelief at Spock's empty chair on the bridge just before the Enterprise is destroyed, with Spock rocketing away to safety.

  • You don't think chekov would be like "HEY this is the planet right next door to where we dumped khan"

But ohh well I guess one planet looks the same as the other

  • @DarkKnightBob1o1 You know, the movie forgets this, but Checkov wasn't actually on the show when Khan appeared.

  • @excalibur183 thaat point wasnot lost on me when I first saw it.

  • @DarkKnightBob1o1 he was probably out looking for nooklear wessels.... or just scrubbing the bulkheads in that episode.

I always justified it with the fact that he was either elsewhere inthe ship or just read about it in the files.

IT'S JUST A TV SHOW THOUGH!

  • @excalibur183 The officially unofficial story is that Chekov wasn't the navigator yet, but at the time Chekov was a...I'm not sure...but whatever he was, he kept Khan from using the bathroom when he needed to.

I can just imagine it. Our genetically engineered superman standing outside the door, hopping on first one leg, then the other, then Chekov poking his head out the door to say that the toilet isn't working. ROFL

  • Could always have done it up where they pretty much decide to shoot the torpedo at the planet after Chekov asks if the planet needs to be completely lifeless :P (I mean hey it wasn't uncommon to doctor the logs in that era, they could accidentally omit the lifeform readings)

  • Khan: CHEKOOOOV! CHEKOOOOV!

  • lol they were above the planet why did they need to warp away

  • "Officially" Chekov never met Khan in TOS. According to IMDB, it's possible Chekov was a crewmember but not a Bridge crew member and their encounter happened between scenes. I don't buy it, but maybe there's something they wanted to expand on but didn't for whatever reason.

  • @SSPerfectChaos Well, there had to be some way to explain that colossal gaffe on the part of the writers. They should have had Sulu on the Reliant instead; they should have also had Madlyn Rhue reprise her role as ex-Enterprise crewman/Khan's wife, Marla Mcgivers.

  • the thing i never got is how did they not notice the system was missing a planet?

  • Maybe the Federation never counted the planets in that system past Ceti Alpha VI? Or more likely the writers just f---ed up.

  • @HoustonRules as explained in to rule in hell the exile of kahn noonien singh.

the eneterprise was the only federation ship ever to come in the regula system wich charted 6 planets so chekov and terrel assumed that the most planet was ceti alpha VI.

also chekov di'dn't tell terrel about kahn because he was clasevied and believed him to live a planet away.

  • lmfao - priceless

  • a few weeks later

Checkov: hey kirk y know we almost ran into khan the other day

Kirk: good thing you got outa their

Spock. indeed. someone could have gotten killed

  • @Loverofjesus11233 Checkov: I need to see the doctor about a possible ear infection too. there's an itch that I just can't scratch.

  • @Loverofjesus11233 Why do you only have 48 thumbs up? You deserve a million. You are hilarious...sort of.

Of course, merely thinking of Spock's death makes me sad, so I am torn between he desire to laugh, and the desire to get mad because you made me sad. LOL

  • Let me get this straight

.you've turned a motion picture into an ad

.because these events didn't happen ST XI would be STIII

.Half the worlds media would have lost a part of itself (When Shatner yells Khan)

.Chekov would still be on the Reliant

.Kirk would eventually get depressed having not understood Spock's message

    .Khan would still be alive

.Christopher Loyd would never be a Kling-on

.And according to calculations David would still be alive as well

    ...Awesome work Dude!!!

  • so chekovs bad memory of not remembering khan caused star trek 2 to occur?

  • Loved it!! How many films and TV episodes would have ended without incident had that one person just "followed prcedure"?

  • LOL. That's priceless

  • simple, but effective!

  • LOL

    They just run away?

  • brilliant, pure brilliant!!!!

  • lol

  • I always thought Chekov had good instincts!

  • ah good video. this reminds me of when i was a kid and heard him do the log, i thought he was called Bubble Chekov...yeaah...

  • haha thats how the movie should be

  • LMAO! YouTube's awesome.

You should've chosen an audio clip of Chekov saying "Khan" in a more natural way so that it would've flowed better but nonetheless it was hilarious.

  • I tried but this was actually the only time he said Khan in the entire movie

  • No when Kirk finds him on Regula 1 he says "It was Khan"

  • it probably didn't sound right or something.

i know there's a reason i could only use that one sound

  • @EditingRoom3 If you redo it (not that you should) maybe look and see if he was in the Original series episode with Khan in it.

  • Hmm, you could always throw in the KHAAAAAAAAAN! line from Kirk, later in the movie. ;)

  • Is there anything from the TOS episode about the Botany Bay that would work?

  • chekov wasn't on the show yet. this is a "mistake" in star trek.

  • @duskwalker2 he wasn't on the show but maybe he was on the ship as a common red shirt or something

  • @EditingRoom3 what about in Space Seed? or you could have gone with the comedy option and used KHAAAAN!

  • @EditingRoom3 Actually he says Khan when Kirk rescues him on Space Station Regula 1. "Oh sir, it was Khan! We found him on..."

  • Couldn't agree more. Overall this is a riot. Well done.

  • Constitution class vs Miranda class....epic battle, but we see how a fight between a destroyer and a dreadnaught plays out :) Enterprise had her butt handed to her.

  • LOL!! "let's get out of here!!!" However, i suspect had it really been like that there would have been a huge surge in refund requests from the theatres, LoL

  • Lol, who marked down the comments about Star Trek V's crappiness? Seriously, who would try to defend that movie? Every Trek fan knows that it's to Star Trek what Nuclear Waste is to Nuclear Power. And just about every non-Trek fan absolutely hates the show and bashes it at every chance, mainly because they lack the intelligence to comprehend the style of story telling that just seems like a long bore-fest to them. That leaves no-one left to pretend that it's a good movie. :-S

  • lol KICK ASS

  • Love it!

  • I suppose it could be Khan!

    LOL. This is good!

  • Love it!!!

  • Haha. :D

  • Hilarious!!!!! Nice editing. KHAN. Well, lets go find another planet, movie over. That was freakin' good stuff.

  • Why does Chekov make the log book entry?

  • personal log. Everyone has their own logs.

  • Thank you. That makes sense.

  • Lol that was funny.

  • Okay sorry, but just another thought.

So the bug thing in Capt. Terrel isn't strong enough to get him to kill Admiral Kirk who he's never met, and then commit suicide, but it is strong enough to make him abandon his own crew and hand over his own starship.

PLUS!! Being around Ceti-Alpha six didn't trigger past bad memories in Chekov to have made a quick survey of the other planets in the system, or at least become the slight bit curious to check up on Khan's planet?

    2 Many HOLES!

  • Agreed! The plot holes were big enough to fly the Enterprise through! Also, with the Ceti eels (the bug thingies), they'd have to burrow through a lot of bone to get into the brain cavity...an easier route would be to go up through the nose (the bone between the sinuses and the brain is much thinner there (but then all the "space booger" jokes would start XD). Glad I wasn't the first one to notice them!

  • I think with Terrel he was fine to help Khan dump the Reliant crew on the planet unharmed, but it was the fact that he then shot and killed one of the Genesis scientists (when he was shooting at David and missed), and this brought home to him that he didn't want to kill again. Hence why he chose to kill himself rather than kill Kirk.

  • Yeah that is a good point....

  • no, I think it was just the ceti-alpha slugs getting to big for the brain to handle, causing insanity

  • If you all watch Space Seed Chekov wasn't assigned to the Enterprise yet.

  • He never appeared onscreen, but that doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't a part of the crew.

  • No I think he was but he wasn't in the episode....

  • He was in the series but he was never in that episode, so it does seem weird.

Even if he wasn't assigned to the Enterprise, I'm sure that he would've read Kirk's reports on Khan or Kirk would've told him the story or something.

  • Walter Koening claims Khan remembers Chekov because Chekov was hogging the toilet with Khan waiting impatiently outside. But that's obviously in jest.

  • *laughs*

The Star Trek cast are quite witty, aren't they?

  • capt kirk is a galaxy known hero...and may have been capt terrel's idol....and chekov probably told him stories next to his bed.....

  • ROFL! Very nice.

Or, as Chekov figures out what's wrong, instead of going through all the trouble of putting on their suits, opening the door, and going outside, they perhaps should have called home? So even if that couldn't work because of the interference from the old ship's hull, then definitely call home while Kahn and his crew are wasting time posing all scary-like. Seriously, there shouldn't have been "And then they get caught.." No excuse!

  • to bad if this really did happen, the Federation would have been destroyed in Star Trek 4: The VOyage Home. If Spoke didnt die in Wrath of Khan, Kirk would never have gone against StarFleet orders, and gone after him. After he got Spoke bacck, him and his crew were exciled to Vulcan, and once they decided to go home, they were still out of range of the Alien probe looking for HumpBack Whales. So all that happend in Wrath of Khan saved the Federation. Good job, you killed the Federation.

  • o rly?

  • yes, if it wasnt for Khan, Kirk would have still been an Admiral on Earth, so if Kirk didnt meet Khan in battle, and spoke dieing, then why would Kirk have left earth, and who would go back in time for those Hump Back Whales?

  • Not really... they would have just used the trusty (and totally UNdestryed) Enterprise instead of that Klingon "fleatrap".... saving Chekov a concussion!~

  • still wouldnt work, because the Enterprise would be in the star base, witch had no power at the time. Kirk would also be on Earth, at Star Fleet Headquarters. In that case who could save humanity.

  • Why would the Enterprise be in Starbase when it would have still been on a training cruise? Plus.. Captain Spock was the mastermind behind the humpback retrieval... and (Conveniently enough) had Admiral Kirk and the rest with him on a training cruise. Humanity saved, but franchise lost... we would have missed great perfomances by Ricardo Montalban AND Christopher Lloyd and skipped straight to "FInal Fronteir" not THAT would suck. :(

  • Ok, have you paid any attention to any star treks, the tranning voyage would have lasted a short time, and the Enterprise was schedualed to be decomissioned. The only reason it was taken out of spacedock was because Kirk stole it, then destryed it. Ether way, spoke wouldnt be there, and Earth was still doomed because of this.

  • Or maybe the scriptwriters would have written a way out of it because, oh yeah, it's not real.

  • Well, instead of being a complete dush, you would have realized i was basically saying that if they did do it this way, it would have ruined the entire franchise

  • the Enterprise would've gone on many more training voyages. Coincidentally the probe comes the enterprise is out of the solar system therefore she's available to help out. She was only decomissioned that early because she was badly damaged. This pushed her up early for decomissioning because it would've wasted starfleet more resources instead of prolonging her out for full retirement.

  • Even if the Enterprise was still alive, Kirk would be in command because he would be on Earth sitting behind a desk. He was an admiral after all.

  • Kirk could've made the enterprise his personal flagship like riker did with the enterprise D in all good things. I wonder why Kirk didn't. As for the Enterprise-A it was a bad replacement for the original. It was not reliable and fragile. The original was tough as hell and very reliable.

  • Kirk didnt take it as his personal ship because he felt old and worn out. He said that in Wrath of Khan. He probable thought that he was no longer needed, and with newer and better star ships coming into play, he was a thing of the past.

  • That's the thing I had with Kirk during the movie years. He was in his 50s. He feels old and worn out? Picard in TNG was in his 60s and he never even once said I feel old or worn out? whats up with that? 20 years isn't that big of a difference is it? Newer and better ships you mean that transwarp failure and that cockroach they call the constellation class. LOL

  • I was just saying what he said in the movie. Picard didnt say anything like that because he is all for duty, and is wound up tight. Picard had no regrets and no concerns for what has pasted. Unlike Kirk who felt he left stuff unfinished.

  • Well let's just say I hope new kirk gets to have a wife, have a kid, have a family, not have his ship blown up, and doesn't die a death which involves falling off a bridge. :)

  • YES!!!!!

  • Oh what could've been. :)

  • That's because Picard didn't bang half the chicks or kick half the ass that Kirk did throughout his Starfleet career. If you were Kirk you'd be feeling worn out too. He just had to wait until his second wind kicked in though.

  • Picard didn't bang any at all. I could count on one hand how many episodes involve picard having relations with females. Kirk gets a chick every episode. :)

  • Enterprise-A a crap replacement? You know better than to trust Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, the biggest donkey crap to ever call itself Star Trek!

  • Crappy as it is it's still considered canon. Shatner should've stayed out of the directing and storyline so real writers can come up with something better.

  • Agreed.

  • good I would never feature a story where the new ship is in pieces.

  • Well I think they could've made another 5 year mission out of the 2-3 movies that was star trek II-III-IV. Kirk would have his Enterprise with no bloody A,B,C,D, or E.

  • or J

  • The Enterprise would've been better suited for the time travel and operation whale retrieval because they could've just beamed the whales out without any special construction.

  • LOL - you should have edited the credits to just have Chekhov and Terrel. :)

  • But I still have all this popcorn???

  • LOL

  • What ComraR said :D

  • excellent!

  • Why is this not on YTMND?

  • That's HILARIOUS! I always imagined one where they beam down on the planet, and as soon as Chekov realizes they're in Khan's living quarters, they just beam up and leave. That movie would be a couple of minutes longer. LOL.

  • Im glad Im not the only one who wondered why Chekov just didnt call the ship to beam em up lol

Then again the movie would have been shorter

  • and Insurrection was 1000x better than Nemesis

  • I LOLed

  • lol

  • Kirk's son lives!

  • Cool to see thank you

  • it kind of cuts the movie real short lol

  • When a was a kid I thought his name was Bubble Chekov.

  • That's because you were dumb, lol.

  • Chekov could have saved Kirk a lot of heartache this way.

  • STILL better than Insurrection.

  • lol

  • LOL!!!! So much suspense and unbearable tension.

  • Nicholas Meyer's Director's Edition has nothing on this. XD

  • These are SO funny!

  • I don't know why Chekov didn't just call for a beam-out on the planet...

  • That's hilarious, good job.

  • Oh S***! Khan! Warp Speed!
