if you have a pick you get one finger basically, just use more than one finger w/o a pick, twice as fast.

i can play with fingers or a pick, and i prefer using my fingers and using one over the other doesnt make you a "real" bassist, it all depends on the style your playing and the tone you want to get. And jared, using 2 fingers isnt necessarily twice as fast because you can pick up and down, not just down
