I fucked up the carb by trying to rebuild it in Grade 10 auto class and then got a friend to rebuild it properly and it was working better than new by the end. It's also been to BC and back 6x (other than the usual daily driving) from Toronto, Ontario and never needed anything replaced except the belts and tires. Amazing.
I drive a 2010 Ford F150 (fully loaded) and within a year and a half I fucked up the transmission!
I had a '72 ford that had no 4X4 and almost bald tires and that truck would keep going through extremely deep snow. My '98 with only the V6, no 4X4, 235-85R16, plus camper shell was going through snow that only guys with 4X4s would go. Coming out of some of those places people had hard time believing it was only two wheel drive.

@TheRedneckrebel15, But in late 1999 they put cast rods in them, my brothers threw a rod a 109,000 miles, early 1999 was the last of the forged connecting rods. thats why I said early 99 was the last of the good powerstrokes.

@johnnyfast76 - I think the 6.8 V10 would have eaten the 454 alive, if both have locked diffs front and rear. The 454 may have more torque at lower RPMs, but ya give a Triton V10 really low ratios to work with and it will straight up demolish a 454.

@2004Skidoorev Hell yeah, I've got an 85 Wrangler and it's the fucking SHIT. I fucked up the carb by trying to rebuild it in Grade 10 auto class and then got a friend to rebuild it properly and it was working better than new by the end. It's also been to BC and back 6x (other than the usual daily driving) from Toronto, Ontario and never needed anything replaced except the belts and tires. Amazing.
I drive a 2010 Ford F150 (fully loaded) and within a year and a half I fucked up the transmission!

I had a '72 ford that had no 4X4 and almost bald tires and that truck would keep going through extremely deep snow. My '98 with only the V6, no 4X4, 235-85R16, plus camper shell was going through snow that only guys with 4X4s would go. Coming out of some of those places people had hard time believing it was only two wheel drive.
