I don't think so. Besides, it leaves little pieces of plastic all over the place, and the lift charge will probably melt the bottom of the cannister unless you wrap it a bunch. And if you're going to go to all that trouble, why not just make a decent case in the first place?

it's too small for a 1 incher it owuld be a 1/2 inch and u need really small stars then i wouldn't try it

a film canister is 35mm normally so more than 1" its about 1.3"

Film canisters are very commonly used as shell casings. They are often attached to rockets as well.
