@ftpaddict Maybe you've never driven a car with a great diesel engine, which makes the petrol one seem pointless.

@derbigpr500 It'll always sound unrefined next to a petrol-powered car. Sort-of like a tractor; and no amount of technology will make it sound otherwise.

Roadsters are more about style and appearance than outright performance. For the latter you need the rigidity of a coupe. And convertibles are mostly second cars; no need for the practicality or frugality of a diesel.

Don't get me wrong, I love diesels; they make perfect sense on a daily driver. I own a Mondeo 2.2 TDCI. I love it.
