We need more simplified games. Some of the games I run are so rules-heavy that I think they give you a dice system for everything from attacking to walking across the floor!

The simple games are out there, you just have to know where to look. My vote for Best Simple Game is Risus, you could probably fit the entirety of the rules inside a youtube comment!

Star Frontiers the first TSR foray into SF? What about Metamorphosis Alpha and Gamma World?

I love SF, but it wasn't the first... I have 1st editions of them all.

Both of those games mentioned are more accurately described as sci-fantasy.

In sci fi radiation kills you it doesnt make you grow strange powers or an extra head.

Sounds interesting. Have more questions about the mechanics, but... yeah, I like just diving in and collaborating in an adventure story with rules to guide it, and not worrying about whether or not I've mastered the system first.
