The one and only bone of contention I've ever had with the Evolutionary Biologist Richard Dawkins was his former opinion that kids OUGHT NOT be told that Santa is fictive. There are physical logistics to a proposition of a man of such girth ,gaining ingress into a narrow flue.Reason trumps whimsical reverie.
djnross, I would have to agree. Imagination has stirred Science as well as inventions and reasoning. Frankly, my daydream world at times is my greatest survivor. It really helps me find a place to just rest and partly because I am so emotionally involved in life. I think kids should have some life experience in the fiction. MeanBlackdude...it is...I think of "sanity" as one knowing onesself. I have lived long enough to know few that really do. And, then for me, who gets people and can figure them out pretty quickly, I have to struggle with them trying to convince me of their illusions...thus, insanity prevails and sanity fights to hold on,lol. ~Raven
Raven, girls have never liked me because of my strange distended, bloated look and condition which produces an odd smell. But maybe you're different. If only some woman would

Raven, you mean my odd smell and bloated condition could do things for you in a romantic sense? I'm in love. And part of our romance could include me helping you do your pimples. Raven, the public finally knows. You and Brad Pitt got together each time you wanted him to impregnate you. You met him on a movie set. Many women would kill to have Brad Pitt's children. But you, yes you, had him as the father. Over and over and over and over. It was your being in heat that drove the man crazy. You made him nuts. It was rough love making, but tender. January 1, 2008 is World Day of Peace: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is discord, harmony; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is error, truth; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy. Wonder is beautiful for the imagination of children and I had fun watching this. They'll grow old soon enough and learn the realities of life on their own in a healthy way. Great idea you had...
ruotze, cool! I have had people think that I am from Brazil, Spain and when I lived in Hawaii, the local Hawaiians thought I was from a small Island where the Hawaiians are mixed with French. My son explained Santa to us this year -- how he died years ago, and his spirit lives at the north pole, and all those mall Santas are men dressed up that tell the real Santa what he wants, and the spirit Santa isn't real -- so that's why he can get around the world so fast.
All this to rationalize away the unimaginable idea that Mom and Dad were trying to enlighten him to, that Santa may not be real...
DanPostrophel, well I look at it as they will figure it out but holding onto some fantasize life creates an imagination that can be innovative later on in life. Example, I dont think people who create inventions come from still minds but people that believe in the impossible. ~raven
Brazdolph, thanks woman. It was fun. I had so much more footage of Santa climbing a tree and accidentally recorded over it. The people reactions at 1 AM were classic. I laughed my behind off. ~Raven
mtamorphis...HOW CUTE!! I wish I could have seen that on video...awesome! Yah know, in my opinions, adult life is tough and very real. I have a few surreal memories in childhood from reading comic books and feeling they were real, TV show, Christmas, etc., and they do make some great remedies for adult hood tough crashes. ~Raven
ProductPlacer, oh yeah, all of their friends tell them its not true too. I am going to have to have them watch too. Fantasize play sure helps out during adult hood. I have had some of the best reflections to hold on to and some crappy ones too but the good ones do help. ~Raven
ask Yourself Why would you break Trust with Your Kids? they will hear the Truth and Never trust you the Same again as you Delude them into Lies. Brainwashed and Programed and you will wonder why they go their own way when they grow and then Think back on this day and you will see why. Lies are Lies its Fun for you because you Know Better. Its Fun For them because they Trust You.
So this must put me in the same boat as when the easter bunny spit all the carrots out for my daughter to clean up, making it seem that he himself did it. My reply to you would be, NO, REALLY! (good video Raven no matter what this CanadianBeaver says.)p.i.t
Yeah, we set out the easter stuff, gifts, and such, and she left the easter bunny some big old carrots and I figured this will be funny so I took some bites out of them and thought I'd leave a trail all the way to the door like he was actually there eating and then left. She said that the easter bunny was silly. It was so funny and cute.p.i.t
CanadianBeaver, I dont know anyone personally who was psychologically screwed up because they once believed Santa was real. I do think that the minds that think pass whats so called "real", have imaginations that have created some of the greatest inventions of mankind. Adult life is hard and in your face real. We can look back and enjoy the sweet fantasizes of childhood. ~Raven
is it Ok to Lie Decieve and Brainwash Children into Lies?
Is it Ok to Lie Decieve Children to an Idea that will be proven a Lie in order to make a few Years Fun that will enter them into an Understanding they cant trust anyone because the One person they Trust Most is capable Of being a Liar to them. look at the world and see the Mirror of what we Do to our Children.
CanadianBeaver, I totally understand what your saying. I guess its a measure of what could gain from the imagination vs. a cute idea that has a falseness spun into it. I have relied on my childhood memories, the good ones, for surreal reflection. I dont have many of them but imagination as a kid, even playtime where it feels very real are all part of getting through our tough lives. ~Raven
CanadianBeaver, one can celebrate Jesus Birthday, Santa Claus, and many of other things, through a balance of ideals and still gain the fullness of a seasons where the principles of giving and loving eachother is celebrated. ~Raven
CanadianBeaver, if I had a friend who just cut her hair and she loved it and I hated it. What should I say? I would say, "You look nice." Thats a lie, its called a white lie because the intent is kindness. Santa Claus is no different. He is a man who represents giving. Its an ideal that is good to recognize. ~Raven
you still didnt answer the Question. is it good to Lie and Deceive Children?
Lies are Lies you can Explain them away but they are still lies and who decides what Lies are Good and What ones are bad?
do You not see the world and Wonder why it is as it is I can tell you it startes with Lies that PPl Pretend to be Truth.
you Trick and Lie to make fantasy seem real and you set the child Up for the worst fairytail of all the Illusion Of Life that Is Enslavement to Lies and Not Truth.
CanadianBeaver, I did answer the questions. Some lies are good....VERY TRUE! I think lying to my friend and telling her she looks nice in her hair cut benefits her more than saying her hair looks like crap. ~Raven
how when she Goes out she will be told it looks like Crap and You will be a Liar. How can You compare a Hair Cut to Total deception of a child? Lies are never Good those are the Words of a Liar to say it is Good. to explain why they Lie and not deal in Truth.
So I get this Right you think it is Ok To Lie and Decieve Children? as you feel it no diffrent then a lie told to a freind about their Haircut?
