i don't use water or soap. first i start by clogging the drain. then i just pour in a 2 gallon jug of bleach. then just soak all my dirty dishes in that. but i guess her way is pretty good too.
Seems pretty obvious but I know a lot of people who run the hot water full blast the entire time they do dishes even if they walk away for from the sink.
I would like to add that having the rinse sink full of clean hot water, saves water instead of just letting the water run to rinse. Add 1/4 cup of plain white vinegar to the sink of rinse water and the dishes will sparkle! (Vinegar is also a disinfectant) I also quit using commercial dish soap, and now just use my homemade "lye heavy" soap I make for laundry and cleaning.
Well - a bit better than someione I used to know who put all the dirty dishes on the left hand draining board, washed them all and put them on the right hand draining board, changed the water, washed them all again and put them on the left hand draining board AND THEN put them in the dishwasher!
Well, at least she's in the kitchen.

or just use a bowl that is already dirty in a single unit sink and fill that up with suds.

If the population of the earth was 2 billion people, you could keep the hot water running.

Yeah, but what's so different from washing it in the sink when it's full of water and has soap on the bottom of it?
