It's sad to see how the BBoys (aka Mike Love) tries his best to continue on, but that ship has sailed and the Beached Bou just doesn't seem to realize it. If you want to hear the REAL Beach Boy sound of old, here it is (or listen to Brian Wilson's band).

Bryn Athyn Pennsylvania (20 miles n of Philly) represents!...2004 wonder here!!!!....and with Christmas 2010 one month and counting, there's just no way this version and these guys can't get some credit.....Radio stations and the like throw this version up and let everyone enjoy the season.....

This tune was absolutely cut in real time, in one room. Your right, it sounds polished, sweetened and perfected in a studio but it wasn't. These guys are simply amazing. What makes me smile is that it requires ten extraordinary vocalists to clone the complex harmonies that a teenaged Brian Wilson heard in his head & in spite of having extremely diminished hearing in his right ear; wrote, arranged, produced and engineered such a stunning body of work.

@airager Nope. It is what it is. Guitars, bass and piano run direct, 2 mics on the cocktail drum, 1 mic on the glock, vibes and bells, 1 group mic and 1 lead vocal mic. The doubled lead vocal was sung into the group mic.

There was no one skipping across a roof. The original backing track is Piano,Sleigh bells, Glockenspiel, Celeste, and Drums. That skipping sound you must be hearing is tape hiss from the master, after all the original Master Tape is from 1963!
