I am very familiar with the Colorado Springs police, and they are very fond of falsifying charges, and using excessive force. I no longer live there and will never go back even to visit. It is that bad. Beautiful area, but not worth the trip because of the police. Not only that, but it has become over run with religious fanatics as well. Thats why the cops are such pricks there. They are part of that movement.

Actually he was charged with resisting and interference and acquitted on the latter. I filmed the "chickenshit" that assaulted the woman before a deputy showed up. I chased him around the building to make sure he didn't escape. I was, and still am an advocate for the victim and have all that tape, just haven't posted it. Also, if you would read the whole story on people dieing after being tased, you would realize that there have been no deaths linked to the taser. This taser was appropriate, the officers attempted to subdue the culprit and he resisted and then challenged them. I was in the IVAW tower guard when this went down. I'm glad such great footage of this was captured. Many of my best friends are officers and they never would have pulled this shit. The guy clearly stopped resisting once the taser was drawn yet they still tased him.

Like I said, my CSPD friends are awesome; they aren't such pussies as to where 4 of them couldn't restrain one guy. They would certainly threaten with a taser, but they'd only use it if it was completely necessary.

I too live in Colorado Springs, and I saw someone get tased three time after they had already been dropped to the ground by cops.

In the incident of the person getting tased multiple times, he was being drunk and beligerent before being subdued, but the Police in Colorado Springs really overuse these things.

The taser was not necissary, based on the suspect having stopped resisting when the taser was drawn. Furthermore, the suspects right arm was loose for long enough to have gone for the cops gone, with a high risk of return fire injuring the cop behind him. Overall, a poorly executed arrest. Had the man continued to resist once the taser was drawn, its use would have been justified.
