  • Cameron? Laddie..... as long as your arse keeps shitting you will never be PM of this country. You and your Lib Lab mates have ruined my Britain between you. You have denied any referendum on Europe, you have milked the expenses for all you're worth, and you're all going to form a HUNG parliament because the fringe parties are going to take your votes away from you.

  • CHANGE OK DAVID START WITH YOUR SELF STOP CLAIMING £1,000 a mounth from the tax payer TO pay YOUR council tax and £800 a mounth to pay YOUR morgage from the tax payer aFTER ALL WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER ARE WE NOT

  • The Tories have ZERO moral right to attack welfare claimants (including incidently the many honest claimants whose sole 'crime' is to be unemployed). Its good that Mr Cameron will be tough on those MPs who have exploited the system but he should think very careful before doing something similiar to Labours 'Were on to you' campaign. The hypocrisy of that is blatantly obvious.

  • Goddamn, Dave's farts are rancid. He farted in the street once and killed a puppy. Gordon Brown then proceeded to eat it. I also like trains.

  • I like trains

  • @alzombie *Shame

  • Do you do gameplay videos? If not fuck off!

  • I just cannot understand these fools, my area is staunch Tory and it is a constant battle to attract new members and yet these people speak just the same as i do about immigration and everything else.

Always voted Tory and always will do is the general comment, just like lemmings jumping off a cliff, they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction.

  • lol this PR stunt is funny

just make the legel system better and give police much more power then i will vote for you next time

  • just seen your article in glamour magazine david. fantastic!

  • We should start with strengthen and modernise our parties! Has anybody read the "Constitution of the Conservative Party"? Strong advice: DON'T!

  • I thought this was supposed to be for comments about the above video, not personal attacks which are very boring for others to read. I like to hear what others think, but these comments are ridiculous!

  • I'm getting tired of this whole "broken britain" tag.

It's PR nonsense. I still don't know what this man is about.

  • Cameron!!!

You talk about a parliament that speaks for the people yet you deny the minority a voice by defending the First Past the Post System!!!

    Think about it please!!!

Give us a fair voting system!

    (Not AV)

  • As a new 18 year old voter i will be certainly giving the conservative party my vote. Team Cameron :) looking forward to hearing the rest on Monday.

  • reform reform ok david here what i think you stop claiming £1,000 a month from the tax payers to pay your council tax and stop claiming £800 a month from the tax payers to pay your morgage after all we are all in this together or are we

  • The tories were the worst for fiddling - far worse than the other parties.

    Tories always tell lies.

  • fucking boring boring , fag lady man and who gives a shit what ever he is on about , i click on clip bymistake b4 eney cock sucking freedom fighting fags reply dont watch it then ,

  • Talk, talk, talk.... that's all he does, just like Brown. We should get rid of the lot of them and bring a fresh lot of minds in that actually wanna DO, rather than just talk about it!

  • I like his open collar and the very well placed coffee mug (not a cup mind you, a mug!) He really speaks to me as a working class man of the people! lol Acutally, i never been as well off as i have been duriing the Labour Government, the low interest rate mean i have less money going out and i can save for the future of spend it on a nice holiday.. thanks Gordon!!

  • Labour lefties should never hold the purse strings again, these lefties have never run for the bus, never mind run an economy. I cant work it out, if you are down on your wages do you reach for your credit card to pay your bills --- No, no you should never do that, but Labour has done exakly that. should have trimmed the fat, while they had a chance

  • These politicians could not live on a couple hundred a week, There are many people who manage on such amounts, and STILL pay taxes. You can start to see why people get pissed off with politicians and the government. I feel David is our man, only if he is honest and starts getting really stuck in, and sort it out and finaly see some money back in the pockets of us UK £ slaves.

  • I dont have ANY sympathy about the expenses, ok somes stretched the rule but still complied, (dont tell me though about how i should run my life) and some blatantly stole from the taxpayer, ie Mortgage payments for non existant mortgages --- PURE THEFT, simple. I am afraid most MPs are still floating around in cloud cookoo land, Its us workers, who strugle to pay the bill and pay taxes, i mean I take it personaly as though I am paying for those gardeners, pool cleaning etc. Its a bitter pill.

  • Cameron, we all know that with you in power it would be exactly the same, shut up.

  • nicely said, david

  • Mortgage I should say, rather than rent.....

  • Doesn't anyone see that this whole stand on expenses is just a ploy to get elected?

  • Definitely, MP's like Cameron are using the expenses saga for electioneering. It's strange he is though, as he used the expenses system to is advantage and claimed thousands upon thousands for his rent, even though he's very wealthy.

Yet now he says the system needs changing. If it was so wrong, why did he claim from it?

I wonder if he'd be going into the election highlighting expenses if it wasn't such a big story in the media, or whether he'd still be claiming from it for his rent?

  • I really wonder just what has to happen to make people in this country realise how serious this financial mess is and how badly things have been managed. Bottom line here is Labour can not and never could manage money.

  • Only a fool trusts the government. Simples!

  • A serious point here: How does Cameron think he's going to get away with doing youtube videos after his attacks on Gordon Brown for doing the EXACT same thing???

  • what a twat

  • Hey people, I think we have to be a bit more realistic about the expenses saga.

For years, MP's were allowed to claim money like a 'wage top up'. It was the norm, MP's were led to believe it was OK.

Some MP's broke the rules, some broke the law. But most simply took advantage of a flawed wage top up system.

I dare say, most people would have done the same.

In most cases, it wasn't stealing. In most cases, no rules were broken.

Maybe the MP's deserve to be cut some slack.....

  • Q/ What happens if your caught stealing from your company, A/ Your asked to pay it back and given £thous in golden handshakes, OR A/ Your booted out the door and reported to the police for theft. Seems Rule for One and not for others,

  • Just for interest, how many MP's which made a "Mistake" on claiming, actually Under claimed. Just look in my crystal ball------mmmmmmm None. Says it all really

  • MP's Expenses, MPs should be brought to book through the courts, worse than benefit cheats, least the benefit cheats does it to pay for the family food bills etc, MP's have no excuse. They should be sacked and shamed like any other thief!. If they are not, then MP's will NEVER be trusted. Go on David pursue the greedy, bring them to book, dont give in to the old school influence, Thieves are Thieves, wherever they work or live.

  • I agree with part of this video, but... maybe try not reading off a piece of paper....? David Cameron sounds like a 5-year-old at the school play.....

  • Is there anything in that cup? lol

  • Well done David.

Gordon trying to change the voting system is a comical and desperate measure. He is living in la-la land thinking it would have anything but a poor reflection on the current Labour government.

  • Diabolus incarnatus!! The end is nigh!

  • i only clicked on this vid to comment

i don't even care what he actually said, i just want him to know that i really don't want him in charge of the country and does he know any grown ups i could talk to instead plox?

  • Dave, you really need to win and take over form The Brown Turd, i hate gordon brown to be PM for another year..

  • Its not only that we can't have a say on the laws we live by, we can't even have a say within the parties - may be we might after the election.

As you said in your speech on May 26 2009 (Fixing broken politics):

But this spirit of glasnost needs to extend beyond Parliament and throughout our political parties too.

  • You were funny in that documentry: When Boris met Dave.

  • "Palace sitting by the thames" DC

  • It's amazing to find that every time I read your comments, mister Cameracon, it seems like every one is fully aware of the plutocracy we have been suffering under. Looks like soon the snakes will be flushed out and the dragon order will fall from their ego bloated sky. So long SOROS.

  • How can you pursuade people, us, that you care about us. It all sounds so morubund and prasiac. Do something, take a stand. What morals, values, behaviours do you stand for and what not. without this it's all so much hot 'political' air.

  • What a creep !

    Brown is a creep too.

In fact they are all creeps that suck off society.

    DON'T VOTE FOR ANYONE.

    Your just playing their game.

Countries don't need governments that work towards a one world government.

Hang them all along with the banker wankers.

  • so you think that voting for no-one will end their game

    don't be insane...

just like all police are power tripping scum, all soldiers are innocence killing rapists, all MPs are in it for the money

There are some good people in the game, we need more.

  • I think more can be said for no one voting than everyone voting - I would vote if there was a none of the above option.

  • Maybe you would like to share with the rest of us which ones the good people

    are.

  • That is difficult when presuming you mean good people in politics,

I'm going to go with John Preskkkot

his eating habits set him as a role model for wannabe model girls everywhere...

All at the expense of us..

David Icke tried to get into a small councill in the north, I think that would've been very interesting!

    Stuck...

  • Today a Conservative policy (at last) to remove school planning powers from local authorities, to be placed under central government control. Yet on this video their leader proposes the opposite; greater public involvement in government.

  • funny how my comments on the CIA putting the xmas bomber on the plane without a passport has been removed--- look it up before they pull my comments--- see below TRUTH HURTS

  • Yes, I'm sure the CIA did that and I'm sure a pink Spider just flew by my window too.

  • perhaps you should investigate it before you comment, The CIA admitted involvement. Its been on US news

  • The CIA admitted they were warned about it and didn't do enough to stop it.

    There is a difference.

Why does this relate to this video anyway?

  • ter his farthers warning. (FACT)

RICHLES01 is right in what he has said

  • Poltics. whats the chance of getting onto a plane without a passport = Zero/

Whats the chance of a bomber getting onto a plane without a passport =IMPOSSIBLE..

Policies are created by these false "terror" attacts,

  • @RICHLES01 bombers usually have passports

  • not this one, he was sent through passport control. witnessed by lawyer and wife on same flight. see interviews on us tv. actually by others as well. you can see some news on youtube

  • The coffe mug, the books, the scatter cushions. . . . get a p r company that knows people David. You look like a total toff in sheeps clothing.

  • Houses dont make slums people do! I dont know were you live mate but most of us have books on Shelves & mugs like those cost £1 each in Home Bargins!

  • @yorktowwn why are you so interested in the furnishings? HAve you nothing to say about what David is saying?

  • verny, hes not saying anything. Listen again, not one idea or specific plan, just generic nonsense for the masses.

  • Nothing wrong with toffs. Macmillan was a toff and is one of the best Prime Ministers we ever had.

  • I agree that party whips should have less power.

  • Are economy will suffer even more with a hung parliament. We need the Conservatives to take over otherwise Brown will bleed this country even more .

  • On another note, have a look at the way Switzerlands political system works, it is an infinitely fairer system of politics. People need to learn the difference between Socialism and Communism, one is a fair system working to help everyone better their circumstances, the other is China. The biggest loosers in a socialist system are the financial elite and as they are the biggest lobby/pressure groups they will never allow it.

    Just some food for thought.

  • quinnjohn)And its the latter that is coming in through the back door with the Labour Party!

  • @quinnjohn1 All political systems have failed. There needs to be a new way of doing things. Have you any ideas?

  • It's not as much the system in this country as it is the people within it.

  • I don't have a definitive idea of how to solve the state of our political system, I personally would like to see some of the Swiss polices incorporated into our system. I would also like to see some Canadian polices incorporated as well. There is not enough space to go into detail, but if you are interested Google has a wealth of info on them both. There are many things that Canadian and Swiss governments could do better but on the whole, I think they are better than the current UK system.

  • I hope that turn out for this election is tiny and we end up with a hung parliament as well. We need to send a message to all politicians that WE ARE NOT HAPPY!!! and their behaviour has been thoroughly out of order. Modern politicians are supposed to be the servants of their constituants, not the slave traders they behave like, wasting our resources (money) for their own gain. The chances of any real change are almost non existent whichever party wins. Scrap the whole system and start again

  • This bastard has no place in Government. He has the nerve to try and relate to the common man by using "WebCameron" and going cycling looking like an idiot. This is a bloke who was educated at ETON, who grew up loaded with money, and although he still has a load of money, he has a lot of growing up to do still. FUCK YOU CAMERON.

  • Sounds good, that's about all you can say about it.

  • Dear David, you have to move fast if you want to win the election, you have to be tough and to the point, Politics are broken and now we must turn this Country around, get rid of the rotten MP's and then we are all about getting the House of Common's fighting fit again. There is a lot of work to be done to repair this fine Country, and it is your job to make the changes if elected you must win outright to succeed in your objective's, or we are lost and so is main stream party politic's

  • delayed doesen't mean blocked. your trying to make it sould like brown is stopping this when he's not.

cameron uses so much spin. listn to browns blog - there is still spin but no where near as much ; brown is more honest

  • The only thing the Labour government has done is to bring the UK onto its knees with a begging bowl. The labour had it good for many years, (its us not them who pays for sevices) the should have saved some, paid the debts off, I remember a good old record, "Gordon is a Moron", cant help singing it when i see him on the TV. Labour should hang its head in shame, also entering wars we cant afford, based on lies, the biggest terror mongers is the US government, Gordon dont listen to them

  • so many ignorantly unintelligent comments here. i have lost hope with humanity. reading the comments on this video makes me sick

  • Truth hurts

  • FACT the uk will be an Islamic state within 100 yrs. Back to the dark ages and civil war i predict. Research the facts, France now has a massive Islamic way of life. We are the Infedals, In the Koran there is NO place for the Christian way of life ____Who are the Racists.

  • Comment removed

  • @RICHLES01 you are

  • if you only knew

  • Here Here Captain, This is (Should I say it) ABritish country based on Christian values, Where i should be able to say I dont like Islam, I dont like Muslims, I dont like criminals, I have a sign in the Taxi saying English speaking, I am no proper Christian, nor a Taxi Driver, but is it just me, or do I have more of a clue what the average Englishman wants for the country. ( Ah PR Police on my door to take me away) You are right Islam is growing out of control, 100 yrs UK = Islamic State

  • ----continued from previous...........

Or are you merely going to cowardly put your hands over your eyes hoping this nightmare will go away on its own volition or that it least will not come to civil war?

  • ....continued from previous....................

In the three terms of Labour government in Britain we have seen the once proud British people under Maggie Thatcher being reduced to fearful dhimmis cowering from Islamic extremists and supremacists in their own land.

What, if anything, are you and your dithering caucus going to do to give Britons back their own country? ..............continued..........

  • CaptainDemocracy1

    OK enough.....stop right there !

    Your a fucking idiot.

  • Yes, yes, Mr. Cameron, continue to conveniently ignore the 900lb. gorilla in the room.

The biggest threat to Britain at this time is not the Labour government's deplorable economic policies and tax and spend agenda, but rather their intransigent position vis a vis Islamic immigration and the imminent Islamicization of Britain..........continued..........

  • You seem to be one of a few politicians talking any sense. The internet should be the conduit through which we can vote on the issues you have highlighted. More power to the people that's what I say! Brown could have done more in the good times when he was in bed with prudence. Like the Haiti earthquake it will take a hell of a long time to clear up the aftermath!

  • Haiti earth quake, Why were the americans all prepard for such an event, with pallets of items waiting for use, for exacky the same thing to happen only days before. Google HAARP.

  • Lok it up

  • Weather manipulation weapons.

90 % of brits don't even think that man is able to make it rain when ever he wants.

Ask the average brit about rain planes and they stare at you as if your mad. lol

    RICHLES01

I can see that your trying to educate the sheeple & I understand your thought.

Fuck them.....let natural selection take place I say.....we know who will be left at the end...........we tried but they woulndn't listen and now their gone.

The ones who won't listen, WILL become our enemy.

  • In your Dreams read the paper !This Election is between The Conservatives & the BMP the rest dont have a snowball in hells chance! Me I will vote Conservative.

  • It's all very well to make promises about making parliament more responsive to the people. All very reminiscent of what Blair said last time there was a government change.

So the question is as follows:

    1. Did Blair fail to delivery a more accountable government?

    2. Did Blair succeed in delivering a more accountable government, only our expectations have risen since then?

    3. In another decade's time, will we as a voting public be just as susceptible to the same promises being made again?

  • Also David, its about time we cut up the UK credit card. and split our £ links with the US. Clear the debt first before you make promises you cant afford. Go on put the credit card away, once your back is against the wall, you will achieve far more. We need a David Hatchet Cameron as leader and no "Yellow Belly" Sort out the criminals (No acceptions) with a term for a crime, prison means prison, no tags, no suspended, public vote on judgements. It all needs a good shake up.

  • @RICHLES01 this comment makes no sense. you can't just default on your loans

  • We should clear the debt, just not to keep increasing it. You would not keep growing your debt in business

  • @RICHLES01 we could abolish the NHS. That would be smart.

  • Not abolish, just fire the managers and incorperate the drug companies so they work to sell cures

and NOT constantly churn out symprom suppressors

they know how to make money,

if the NHS was simply abolished the only thing i can see happening is other useless corporations assuming the position of feeding the drug companies.

  • @deedidee I was being sarcastic We obviously shouldn't abolish the NHS. It doesn't transmit well on youtube. I was saying that there is no way to simply 0 our debt. RICHLE doesn't understand economics

  • I see a hung parliament approaching.

  • We need a government with balls, sort out the scroungers, incl MPs, Help the small businesses that give so much to the country, Us workers need a brake for us, I am fed up to the back teeth of working to pay for others, I should have a little left over for myself and family, Come on Cameron, think of the backbone of the country, were sick of being abused financially. Perhaps it would be easier to throw in the towel and give up, and live on the state!

  • we need also need to sort out this so called "Terrorism". That xmas bomb plotter was put on the plane by a CIA agent, without a passport. We need to sort out the hidden agendas of this world and the transparacy of the banking elite. Who controls who. I fear conservatives may just vaneer over the issues. This country needs taking by the neck and shake out all the deadwood. Also those criminal MPs, & expenses should be kicked out in shame without £thous, in golden handshakes

  • Yes, Dave you really need to get stuck in now and start to be more positive about explaining exactly what the policies are. I do realise that Labour has stolen a lot of the good ideas over the years but the people need to feel confident in your ability to lead us back into econonic prosperity. You have my vote but there are those out there who are still undecided, why I have no idea but voters need to have the choice clearly spelled out to them. LABOUR REPRESENT HIGHER TAXES AND MORE & MORE DEBT

  • @Multikingsey

That's one way of putting it. Another way would be to say that "Labour represent paying a decent amount for maintaining decent public services, and when economic times are bad, they are prepared to borrow to maintain the same high standards (a debt, obviously, that will have to be paid back when we can afford it again)".

It's not that I'm trying to detract from your argument, but I do so detest these one-sentence propaganda phrases that deliberately gloss over the details.

  • The only good thing this Government has done in 13 years is to bring in the minimum wage which benefitted lower paid workers. Any Government would be popular giving money away to those who won't work and taxing everyone else to the hilt. Let's get back to benefitting those who are prepared to work for a change. Don't see much evidence of better education when some kids are leaving school unable to read or write, only cert. they get is an ASBO. Hospitals filthy & understaffed, need I say more?

  • I would be hugely grateful if you could point me towards some evidence that shows that kids are leaving school "unable to read or write".

This is a common piece of propaganda made by all sides of the political spectrum for whatever ends, and as a piece of ill-informed mud slinging. It was hurled at the conservatives by Labour 13 years ago, and you - no doubt - will be defending the conservative party against the same allegation 13 years from now.

  • cartbeforehorse) You relly did put the Cart before the Horse to come up with a comment like that! decent public services. RU waiting 4your Prince to come & kiss u awake after 100 years sleep!

  • So what is your definition of "decent public services"? At what point does a service become un-decent? Would you like to get into a comparison game of various services between 1997 and now? Mr Cameron isn't - which says a lot.

He's careful now not to overplay the "cut-taxes-cut-spending" game at this election. He recognises that there are votes to be lost in cutting too far. As was proved in the naughties, if you pay more, you get more out.

  • Cartbeforehorse)I you live on anthr planet ! As in your world : The biggest divid between rich & Poor, since 1945, MPs avoiding prosecution by quoting a law in the 16000, paying £77.30p tax on a £250Airline ticket Going from a sound economy &Treasure Surplus when the Conservatives were in power, To a Shambolic economy & a Humungus Treasure Defeatist clearly has not happened in your world,! as you do'nt sound a work shy lout I must presume U are deeply involved WITHIN the Laboure Party

  • 7Vails: You did well to completely miss my point:

    1. I said nothing outside the topic of the quality of public services - you made no comment on these.

    2. Economy was not in surplus in 1997. In fact it is only since the crisis hit that we have reached the debt we had in 1997.

    3. Corrupt politicians are hardly unique to one party.

    4. As a nation, we are travelling more often and further now than we ever have.

    5. I have no connections with Labour. I was once a member of the Tories.

  • 6. But to your credit, you do mention that the rich-poor divide is widening (surprised to learn that you care).

I completely agree that this is a target we should aim to reduce, and hated Labour (back in the days when we were all more prosperous) for not having been tougher on enforcing policies that achieve this goal.

  • Cartbeforehorse) You are Supercilious to the extreme! You Do Not Live in Briton, !But are of the opinion That you have got it right & the rest of us are morons, not 2 be belive your idea that Conservatives are cads ( Personally I think U came a cropper last time thy were in power & hold a grudge.) NOW IM BEING PERSONAL before I was expressing an opinion It's not another planet U Live on Just another Country U live in(SAME DIFFRENCE) .

  • 7Vails:

re-reading your post... I'm not not sure what economic statistics you were referring to when you mention the "Treasure Surplus" and "Treasure Defeatist [sic]".

I now think you were addressing the UK Balance of Payments (where my point 2 earlier addressed the national debt, as you will have noticed).

All the same, I'd be grateful if you could clarify so that I understand the point you're trying to make better.

  • cartbeforehorse)changes they have made are for the worse as someone has told you in a earlier post Children are leaving school without being able to read and writ! " U did not belive them!. So you have obviously been overseas 4 a long time.. Public Services! What Public Services??? Labour is " The Emperors New Cloths."

  • 7Vails: "leaving school without being able to read and writ!" [sic]

Yes, I did make a note of that point earlier. I'm sure you also remember the part where I challenged Multikingsley to show me where he gets this evidence from. He has not yet responded to that challenge.

I'm assuming that your missing E was an intentional humorous pun, and I shall therefore not be taking your sentence down as a piece of evidence in his favour.

  • cartbefore the horse)Both Multikingsley & my self have tried taking you to water BUT we can not make you drink! "Proof" we are not lairs! I suggest You do some research, you will not have to look far as The Daily mail have run articles all this week ( as have most of the papers ) you live in a different country We live with it every day. its O" so easy when living abroad to look at the old country with rose coloured glasses! Forgetting why you bailed out in the first place.

  • I hoped you'd quote the Daily Mail:

    1. The recent news has been about 11 year olds, NOT school leavers (16-year-olds)!! This news has broken as a result of recent government school 'tests' on PRIMARY schools.

    2. From The Independent: "..However, the results are the best achieved since the tests were introduced in 1992."

    3. Even the Mail's report concedes that improvements have only "stalled" i.e. YOUR source says that results are not getting worse, they're just not getting better _this year_.

  • Cartbeforehorse) As I said " You can Take a Horse to water but you can't make it Drink! Please do me the courtesy of Giving someone else the benefit of your expertise Better still Sit in France enjoying all the benefits it has to offer, But do not be a hypocrite by banging on about the tax system in this country, which as an Ex pat you do not have any liable to pay, Nor an Education System in which your offsprings do not participate in! Furthermore do not bother me again.

  • Maybe you didn't understand the last 20 times I told you this, so I don't know why I'm expecting you to listen this time:

I pay full UK taxes. I won't give away any more of my personal information here, but suffice to say that I have significant UK interest (much more in fact, than in France). You are attacking a straw man.

I heartily encourage you to read the Telegraph and Mail. I never said anything to diss either of these papers.

  • You Do not even remember what you have written & on your last mail you'r going on about tax on bank interest there is vertiually no interested paid at present! & still is a Trillion miles away from All British tax! Quote "The moor you pay the better the services"Un quote, Services that are none excrescent ,(except in your mind)You quit rightly aren't liable 2pay for in any event, as you are an Ex Pat!! What is it with your " You say & we should pay attitude" You have dug yourself a hole!.

  • LOL. Now who is on another planet? You are not only making up the fact that I am an ex-pat (which, as I keep trying to tell you, I am not), but you are also making up quotes and placing them in my mouth.

Where in this conversation did I say "The moor [sic] you pay the better the services." I said no such thing.

  • tbefore the horse) presumable U 4got posting this ? 6days ago!@Multikingsey

That's one way of putting it. Another way would be to say that "Labour represent paying a decent amount for maintaining decent public services, and when economic times are bad, they are prepared to borrow to maintain the same high standards (a debt, obviously, that will have to be paid back when we can afford it again)".

  • Honestly, thank you for actually quoting me correctly. I stand by this quote, but distance myself from the one you tried to stick to me earlier.

I do believe that paying more for [almost-anything] does have its rewards (both in public and private sectors). Mercs cost more than Scooters for example!

Of course, the argument as a whole is far more complicated. But the point of my original statement (which you've correctly quoted back) was only to present the other point of view. Nothing more.

  • cartbeforehorse) your nose is growing by the second! On The one hand U say that you have UK interest, then on the other you say : "your talking to a straw man! Make your bloody mind up as "A Man of straw" has no money or assets. Your talking to a scouser here mate & were quick on the uptake!

  • Again - LOL I never ever said that "you are talking to a straw man".

For your education, a "straw man argument" is a made-up argument that you PRETEND I made. Then YOU knock down the pretend argument to make it look that you're winning the point.

In this case, the "straw man" that I accuse you of attacking is the fact that I am an ex-pat. I am not an ex-pat, and therefore any attack that you make upon me in this regards is akin to punching thin air.

I did warn you not to go down that route.

  • A Man of straw is somone without money or assets And is a common turn of fraise .

Im going away 4 19days 2morrow morning so good by Why Lie!

  • I am unaware of this utilisation of the phrase, so if it caused confusion, my apologies.

However, to back up my utilisation of the phrase, I would ask you to search for "straw man" in Wikipedia.

I wish you all the best on your travels. Please do remember to read the Mail and Telegraph websites in order that you keep up to date with current affairs. And please do vote conservative at the next election. I agree with you that this government's time is up.

  • Considering that you live in France ( according to your profile) & their fore don't have to pay British tax on your airline tickets or anything else, you have a lot to say on a country that you obviously left as the grass was greener across the Channel, so of course you can say "you pay more, & get better service" YOUR NOT PAYING!! well done to you for getting out.

  • And I well pay my fair share of UK taxes I'll have you know. You better hadn't go into attacking me personally since you know very little about the subject. Stay focused on the subject at hand please.

Moreover: there are many better reasons to leave a country than the persuasion of the government of the day (either in the country that one is leaving, or the one at which one arrives).

  • cartbeforehorse)GET of Your Soap BoX! I lived & worked 23years overseas including 8years in Milan Italy.

I am also a Multi Linguist , so I know more than you can conceivable imagine. SO cut out the inverted snobbery!

  • I heartily congratulate you on being able to converse in so many different languages, and having so many years of experience in living abroad.

But my original point was to do with the quality of public services, and in that regard (please take into account my little-mindedness), I really don't understand how any of your unimaginably vast experience relates to this basic point.

  • cartbeforethehorse),What service's! : The Torture confirmed on tonights 10pm News, The £20.000 Death Duty to pay for elderly Cere? The Recall of Tony Blair on the Iraq enquire ? Why would you be interested. The Missing E O" I was coming out in sympathy with your Hero Gordon Brown, only I could not scribble out on the PC (sorry) & I was not witting

To the family's of dead war Hero's. You are supposed to grow up as well as old, go &enjoy a nice glass of wine with very little tax on it!.

  • As I stated earlier (please take it on board this time): I have no affinity with the Labour Party. GB is not "my Hero".

    - I was a staunch opponent of the Iraq War from the start. The Tories would have (and DID) support the same war at the time. - "Death Duty": I presume this is propaganda-speak for "inheritance tax"? If not please elaborate, as I suspect it has nothing whatever to do with public services. - Please stop it with the "you live abroad" BS. I pay full UK taxes.

  • Cartbeforethehorse) BOSSY BOOTS! How dare you dictate to me! You have moved the goal post by the minuet in fact you have even change the game! . Uni Lever Established in 1890s has just threatened to pull out off the UK, due to raising corporate tax, currently at 28%, Ireland CTax. Is 12.5% Germany CTax is 15% In Less developed countries CTax is considerably less.People will not be taxed out of business. I read the Mail & Telegraph. Papers need to be read every Day to get the whole picture!.

  • I did not move goalposts. I have tried to keep this discussion confined to the subject of the quality of public services (a matter in which I have intricate UK interest, in spite of what you THINK you know about my personal living situation (clearly very little)).

    I never mentioned:

    - CTax, Iraq war, death duty, MP credibility

    without being prompted by you

In this discussion, I don't care what CTax is. I have not told you my opinions on the subject, and so it's silly for you to attack them.

  • @cartbeforehorse

the war on terror was made by the labor party they just had to say no and i say give this guy a charce he dos sound a lor better then gorden brown even could be

  • Cartbeforehorse) I smell a rat, You don't want to specify what public services ? So (Hypothetically speaking of course.) :Public Services that you don't use in a country you don't live in = Public services that U have financial interests in!? (Services Funded by the tax payer)You know no other Government will continue to pay through the nose for this Farce, and you need to protect your interests, As your Life of wine & Rose in France would be in dire danger. So your speal is4 personal interest
