Impala saved me and my sons life on a head on , walked away with a few bumps and bruises other driver not so lucky (doa). Pancaked car to firewall did what it was designed to do fold up like a accordian.

I am an auto tech for a police fleet that is composed entirely of the Chevy impala. I am a Chevy/GM guy 100%, but if it were up to me, I would still be getting the Crown Vic for the police vehicle. We have had four fatal accidents involving the impala. They are too fast and too light in the ass....especially for not having a frame for support. Just my thoughts.....

@heartboy86 i had an 03 and theyre known for the transmissions going bad, intake manifolds are another huge problem, and the dexcool gm coolant the car takes is shit too, it eats the gaskets and bearings, even if bought brand new and serviced meticiously, they still die early, unlike a toyota, do research on it bud, especially w/ the 3.4L v6.

Got hit on the drivers and passenger door of my 2008 Chevy Impala on my way home from work. The impact was hard enough to send the car sideways causing it to roll over. And none of the airbags deployed. I wound up with rib and shoulder injuries and had part of my ear pulled from my head. The ear is fixed but the car is a total loss. Wont buy another thats for sure!!
