I met a piano tuner years ago who told me that Madonna's first boyfriend, Russell, whom she refers to in this video, now lives in Portland (about an hour from me). He said that Russell says he broke up with Madonna because he "HATED" her, because even as a teenager she was an egomaniac. (Don't jump all over me for this comment, folks. I'm a huge Madonna fan, and I told the piano tuner so.)

She's not afraid to give props to anyone other than herself, like what she did to Bray, Orbit, Mirwais, Price, etc. (also why they became more famous themselves). Other divas would have said the credit is on ME. Ironically, M's image is someone who is abt "me, me, me!"
