this film is so sad, i dont normally cry at films but in this film i cryed twise. i cryed at gingers death when black beauty said "I'm here...what is it?" that then her body goes past. and at the end when joe finds black beauty again :) god im crying now lol

I sold the REAL BLACK BEAUTY TO some asshole hunter jumper people. I still own the mother. She acts just like Ginger from the book/movie. She requires real discipline and food monitoring. Such a pig, she will eat hers then go after another horse's feed/hay. 17 hands of headache. however extremely sweet with people and talented.

@fourbananas1234 That's quite common since mares can be difficult to use in a movie setting. Ruffian, in the movie, was played by geldings even though she was a filly. And the foal that played the young Black Beauty was a filly. Does it really matter?

I've really enjoyed it and I've watching it different times, even if its sad...

I think its also a good istruction for everyone, for those who have prejudices about horses or don't know about how their conditions at end of 1800...

They never know how to portray movies on trailers. It's like with the movie Fluke, that the trailer looks a family, cute dog movie, while in reality, it's a rather harsh tear jerker with a deep message.

Same here. It's not about Black and Joe. It's a critic about the treatment given to horses in XIX century England. It's the LIFE of the horse, along with all the characters along, some loving, and others simply hateable.

i love horses and all my life i've been around them but i've never owned them i love horse movies and i'm against the abuse and slaughtering they have to go through its wrong. This movie says it all but they need to make a movie that has a horse who is rescued from slaughter as a foal although its mother could not be saved.
