I disagree with the prior two commenters. One should learn the butterfly with a fixed elbow as a means of opening one's pattern and avoiding the bad habit of dropping one's elbow toward the hip.

One can slide the elbow along the X-axis on the wall plane in order to create a figure-eight, but one must learn the rules first before breaking them.

not to take away from her at all, she is very skilled, but the only correction i would like to make is too tell people not to keep a fixed elbow, even tho it make tricks like this easier to learn, in later more complicated tricks you will have to re learn to swivel your elbow to trace the pattern. other than that really impressive and a great vid =)
