look if you play on the computer it will be like this if your nhl 08 is for computer i would buy the ps2 or ps3 versions depending on what you have. i have heard many complaints due to the glitches the the computer versions have next time buy the game systems one and that wont happen.
It has happend to me when the puck gets back over the red line its a goal theres nothing wrong with the computer

They are 2 reasons of this glitch :
1. Referee doesn't like Canada players
2. Referee is corrupted
