I don't think that the game was that bad, just too short. There's nothing wrong with games that are short, but it feels like they tried to shove a really long game story into a 10-hour game.
I personally liked TotT okay enough, but I personally think is suffered Soul Calibur Legends Syndrome. While by itself it was an okay game, It really wasn't worthy of the name "Tales."
I have to agree, though I think a little different on it. It did a great job of what it was about, and actually did a really good job with the characters and story, making it very charming, which is one of Tales' strong points, but the gameplay was too different to feel like a proper Tales of, so it gets a lot of hate for that, and for not being an epic save the world again plot.
I love comments like these. I remember listening to the music in Tales of Symphonia for the first time and seeing the music credited under Sakuraba's name. I was like, "ZOMGWTFBBQ" and made it a mission to find the games he's composed for and, more than likely, playing them.
Oh wow, this is pretty awesome O_O I was expecting music in a much lower quality, but this has a great tune to it which makes me think of Tales of thee Abyss. Crazy! XD
I only liked this game for its music/themes and its characters. Nothing else.

The soundtrack is easily the best part.
Otherwise, the game was lauded with bad design choices, thanks to DIMPS. It really needs to get the Innocence R treatment.

Lol, this sounds like Sakuraba recycled the instruments from this game to make Golden Sun DS. It sounds like the exact same instruments. D:
