@shailendersain the verses from Chandogya Upanishad regarding Soma, Faith etc and five oblations of water should be taken metaphoricaly. it is an analogy to the sacrificial fire....hence the forming of a human from water is symbolicaly refered to mean that man is formed from the sacrifices starting from the sun, soma.....everything is a sacrifice....including the formation of man...and every sacrifice is linked....hence the sacrifice of the sun's rays....leads to the sacrifice of man's form
sri adi sankara is NOT the founder of the adwaita which was always what the vedas endorsed from time immemorial. he only re -established the sanathana dharma through the adwaita philosophy.
Can someone explain to me How it is proved from that certain verse from the Chandogya Upanishad that elements like water form the body? In the last verse it says: ' these Five Oblations of Elements such as Water give rise to Man...' But in paragraph 1 the Gods Oblation = Faith, 2nd = Soma, 3rd = Rain, 4rd = Food, 5th = Semen. Can someone help me with this?
ACTUALLY SHANKARA WAS BLESSED WITH ONLY 16 YEARS OF LIFE SPAN....BUT AFTER DEFEATING VYASA AND OTHER SAGE(I DONT REMEMBER NAME) THROUGH DIALETICS....they added 8 more years each summing up to 16 years.....his lived upto 32....THE GREATES INTELLECT THAT THE WORLD HAS EVER PRODUCED....
Very True This indicates one thing which is Adi Shankara was avatara of Lord Dakshinamoorthy. He was responsible for dispelling ignorance...Jnana is the greatest because only through Jnana one can understand Bhagavan.
he did not defeat veda vyasa as you have written. he only proved the validity of adwaita the arguments were accepted by mandana misra ( who was known to be a depositary of knowledge in buddhism). mandana misra became sri sri sri sureswaacharya who was given to take charge of the dakshinanmaya sri sri sri sringeri sarada peetham. veda vyasa was the guru of sri gauda pada who sishya was sri govinda bhagawath pada who gave sanyasa deeksha to sri sri sri adi sankara.
sadaasiva samaarambhaam, sri vyasa sankara madhyamaam,
asmadh aachaarya paryantaam, vande guru paramparaam.
i bow the lineage of my gurus starting from sri sada siva, ( sri vyasa and sr adi sankara in the line) to my present guru ( sri sri sri bharathi theertha mahaswami)
