  • Didn't Clough refer to Mcgovern as the most under-rated player in history?

  • How far football has come in 30years!!! From a fly smoke in your room to 2 glasses of Champagne with the boss, to Wayne Rooney Peter Crouch JohnTerry Rio Ferdinand Ashley Cole et al... The beautiful game has been torn to pieces by GREED AND OVER-RATED PLAYERS

  • I'm a Celtic fan and it amazes how there was a player in that Nottingham side that won two european cups but not a single Scottish cap?!!!! C'ant remember his name though.

  • @eojbhoy67 Either Frank Gray,Kenny Burns i know Gemmill and Robertson got caps

  • @eojbhoy67 John mcgovern, 1 league title with Derby, 1 with forest and 2 european cups. 0 Scotland caps.

  • @markser1 Crazy aint it how times have changed we're absolute pish now lol!

  • @eojbhoy67 Yeah it was John Mcgovern, not only did he play in that Forest side, he was the captain and lifted the European Cup twice! Imagine that happening today and not being able to get a Scotland cap.

  • If anyone would like to get their story of when they met Cloughie in a new book, please get in touch and drop me a line

  • A truly unique man!

  • the man is a gentleman had amazing man managment and we all miss him one of the all time greats what hew did with less fashionanble side was quite brilliant

  • as a celtic fan, stein is a legend,so were guys like brian clough and bobby robson.

    true gentlemen.

    r.i.p.

  • Oh God, yes, I remember, when football was fun and we had characters like Brian Clough. Man management the old way, like Shankley used to do it. Now all the Premier managers - SAF, Wenger etc etc are up their own arses and take themselves sooooo seriously.

  • tmolet

    Your wright son!

    Good lad!.......lol

  • I remember in the late 70's, I'd be in a nightclub in Nottingham & always the only person with me at the bar was John Robertson. This was quite often on a Friday night. He'd skin defenders the next day though. A forgotten man until Clough came along but for a time I think he was the best winger in the world. You couldn't afford to blink or he'd be past you.

  • RIP cloughy

  • Brian Clough the best manager Middlesbrough never had if he could create miracles for Derby & Forest he'd of turned Boro into a colosus.the best manager England never had. If he was England boss it wouldnt be a matter of if he would win the world cup. It would be a case of how many. England would be on a par with Italy, Brazil, The Germans & France & we'd of saw them all off. RIP Clough the best manager ever.

  • Yep your right Sir!

We love him at Derby! Nottingham too
