  • She had purpose and it seems some life left! Go Go , into the wilderness, far from fences!! :D

  • It's too bad that there's not a lot of wilderness left around here... That deer would have to limp a long way to get beyond fences and people's yards.

  • I did see this one! the first of the first three responses so far I had seen... Fantastic video for Resurrection....

  • I also wonder if she's still alive... I haven't seen her since that morning.

  • Yep! Saw a couple of bucks and a doe on the way home this morning :P

  • Oh that poor doe.

  • The strange part is that I was so intent on getting the deer footage that I didn't notice she was limping until after I got home and had a look at the clip...

  • guess it must have been a car... wonder what happened after ?

  • I will keep an eye out for her to find out...

  • Venison is very good meat, almost the best! I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to enjoy some...

  • Yes, she must be feeling some pain or discomfort...

  • Are they protected?

  • Hunters and poachers in suburban areas like this one are arrested, so I guess they are protected...

  • they are all over town by the train yard.

  • Are yours white tails or mule deer? The ones we have are island deer, scaled down in size from the ones on the mainland...

  • @fehquig White tail. They are nice to look at.

  • She is so pretty I really appreciate you uploading this footage I love animal spotting.

  • I see deer every night out there. They are as common as racoons and domestic cats...

  • Aww she is so beautiful, but it made me sad that she's limping.....

Can you tell a naiive Aussie, a) is it common to see deers in suburbia and b) what will happen to her?

    Thanks for the Vid Andy!

    xoxoxo

  • It is common to see deer in Suburban Victoria, but not in Suburban Toronto or Montreal. What will happen to her? She will not get stalked by wolves or pounced on by a cougar, at least the chances are very remote. She might get hit by another car or be shot by a crossbow poacher, or hopefully she will die of old age if she is able to heal after a fashion and live a long life...

  • beautiful creature driven from its habitation by all us humans...we do it all the time...

  • I don't think we're doing the species any favors by removing natural predators either...

  • Ahhh, I want to make her better.

  • I tried the laying on of hands but she walked away before I could touch her...

  • Probably a dent in somebody's rig somewhere...

  • Probably... I hit one very softly once, and she ended up under my front bumper. She shimmied out after a few seconds, and her legs folded out from under her. She wobbled on the pavement looking dazed until she was on the ground, and then she bounded away... There was no damage to my old Cadillac, but there was a bit of fur stuck behind the front tip of the stainless steel moulding on the fender...

  • That one is marked for death I'm afraid. If it can't run at full speed, it's chances aren't good.

  • That would be true in the wild, but in a suburban environment there are no natural predators as all of them have been killed off...

  • Aw poor thing, I wonder if it got hit by a car? I bet it is in pain.

  • She could have been hit by a car or landed badly when jumping off a terrace in someone's garden. If it isn't pain it's discomfort for sure!

  • Limping but what a beautiful creature! The colors of the leaves there is also very nice. :)

  • Some leaves are turning already... The nights are getting colder, and it hasn't rained for a couple of weeks... I was so tempted to go up and hug and squeeze that striking creature but she'd probably run away if I tried :)

  • Only 3 weeks away.

  • Out in the woods, yes, but not in town...

  • and you didnt call 911? ;-)

  • The last time I called 911 it was a false alarm...

  • Wow - I'm amazed it didn't run away - great capture!

  • They are quite used to people and cars...

  • Awww…

  • Gotta love suburban wildlife...
